Component-level analysis is where model-year complaints become actionable: the top complaint category for the 2006 VT is engine and engine cooling:engine with 1 filings. Concentration in one or two component groups is the classic signature of a systemic defect; a flat distribution usually reflects normal aging, warranty complaints, or isolated build-plant variability. This model year has 1 active recall campaign, which means the manufacturer is obligated to remedy the covered defect at no charge for the life of the vehicle — the full NHTSA campaign numbers are listed below.
NHTSA currently has 28 investigation files overlapping the 2006 VT. Owners comparing this cohort against neighboring years should pair the counters above with the complaint-by-year trend on the parent model page — a spike in a single year often tracks to a platform refresh, a new transmission supplier, or an updated ECU calibration. VOLVO TRUCKS IS RECALLING 127,764 MY 2001-2008 VHD, VNL, VNM, AND MY 2005-2008 VT TRUCKS. A SEAL MAY FAIL ALLOWING WATER AND CONTAMINANTS TO SEEP INTO THE WINDSHIELD WIPER MOTOR.
I BOUGHT A COMMERCIAL VOLVO TRUCK VT880 IN FEBRUARY 2006 AND SINCE THAN I'VE BEEN IN SERVICES 27 TIMES FOR A TOTAL OF 17 WEEKS AND FOR THIS MATTER I AM IN A VERY BAD FINANCIAL SITUATION,THE MATTER OF FACT I'M THINKING TO DECLARE BANKRUPTCY AND I WANT TO HOLD VOLVO RESPONSIBLE FOR THE BAD TRUCK THAT THEY DELIVER TO ME AND FOR MY FINANCIAL SITUATION. I CONTACT A LEMON LAW LAWYER IN FEBRUARY THIS YEAR AND I JUST FOUND OUT THAT VOLVO IS REFUSING TO HELP US WITH THE TENS OF THOUSAND OF DOLLARS THAT I LOST BECAUSE THE TRUCK WAS IN SERVICES SO MANY TIMES. I'M STILL USING THIS TRUCK BUT TO THIS DAY I AM ON AND OFF SERVICES. I MADE SO MANY COMPLAINS WITH THE VOLVO ACTION BUT NOBODY CALL ME BACK ,I TRIED TO CONTACT SOMEBODY FROM THE VOLVO HEADQUARTERS BUT EVERYBODY IGNORE ME. I'M AFRAID THE TRUCK IT WILL BE DOWN AGAIN SOON AND I CAN'T MANAGE ANYMORE. THE ONLY HOPE THAT I HAD IT WAS THE LAWYER ,BUT HE DECIDED TO NO LONGER REPRESENT ME. *TR
