Within that volume, owners reported 0 crashes, 0 fires, 0 injuries, and 0 fatalities. No NCAP 5-star crash-test rating is available for this model year in the federal database.

Component-level analysis is where model-year complaints become actionable: the top complaint category for the 2010 V50 is service brakes, hydraulic with 1 filings, followed by power train (1) and unknown or other (1). Concentration in one or two component groups is the classic signature of a systemic defect; a flat distribution usually reflects normal aging, warranty complaints, or isolated build-plant variability. This model year has 3 active recall campaigns, which means the manufacturer is obligated to remedy the covered defect at no charge for the life of the vehicle — the full NHTSA campaign numbers are listed below.

NHTSA currently has 28 investigation files overlapping the 2010 V50. Owners comparing this cohort against neighboring years should pair the counters above with the complaint-by-year trend on the parent model page — a spike in a single year often tracks to a platform refresh, a new transmission supplier, or an updated ECU calibration. Use the related-complaint feed below to read raw owner narratives before deciding whether any pattern here affects your specific use case.

I TOOK MY NEWLY PURCHASED, USED V50 WAGON TO MY VOLVO DEALER. THE SERVICE TECH DEMONSTRATED THAT THE WINDSHIELD HAS BECOME UNSEALED FROM FRAME. IT WAS/IS LOOSE, AND CAN BE PARTIALLY PUSHED OUT. THEY HAD FOUND WET CARPET IN MY CAR. IT IS STILL LEAKING (THE CAR HAD NOT BEEN IN AN ACCIDENT). THIS WAS NOT COVERED BY VOLVO, NOR WAS IT COVERED BY THE EXTENDED WARRANTY I HAD PURCHASED WHEN I GOT THE LOAN. TURNS OUT THIS IS A KNOWN ISSUE THAT VOLVO SHOULD FIX AT NO COST TO ME.

ON 2010 VOLVO,V-50 , WE JUST BOUGHT MY WIFE DOES NOT HAVE ANY TROUBLE SWITCHING HER RIGHT FOOT FROM ACCELERATOR TO THE BRAKE PEDAL, AND BACK AGAIN,BUT IT SEEMS NO MATTER WHICH SHOES I'M WEARING ,I WEAR SIZE 12 D,MY FOOT HAS A TENDENCY TO CATCH BETWEEN THE PEDALS. I BROUGHT THIS TO THE ATTENTION OF THE VOLVO STORE OF WINTER PARK,TODAY APRIL 21,BOTH SALES AND SERVICE MANAGERS,THEY SAID THAT THEY CANT CHANGE THE DISTANCE BETWEEN THE PEDALS BECAUSE OF SAFETY. THEY SUGGESTED DRIVING WITH SOCKS INSTEAD OF SHOES OR USING RIGHT FOOT FOR ACCELERATOR,AND LEFT FOOT FOR BRAKE. I HAVE BEEN TAUGHT IN MANY SAFE DRIVING COURSES INCLUDING THE LAST 55 ALIVE BY AARP,TO AVOID THIS DANGEROUS PRACTICE I WAS WONDERING WHAT NHTSA 'S POSITION WAS ON THIS. WE TRADED IN A 2000 VOLVO S 70 GLTSE THAT DID NOT HAVE THIS CONDITION. THANK YOU FOR YOUR CONSIDERATION.
