FRONT DRIVERS SIDE DOOR HINGE FAILED LOCKING DOOR INTO AN OPEN POSITION AND CAUSING DAMAGE TO CAR FRAME. WAS INFORMED BY MY MECHANIC THAT THIS IS A TYPICAL VOLVO PROBLEM. THE FAILURE CAN NOT BE FIXED WITHOUT MAJOR BODY WORK. THIS FAILURE CAUSED A WRIST STRAIN WHEN DOOR FAILED TO CLOSE. *JB

CAR CAUGHT ON FIRE, FIREMAN'S BEST GUESS WAS A FUEL LEAK. *AK
PRIOR TO THE 30K MILE TUNE-UP THE CONSUMER COMPLAINED TO THE DEALER AND THE VEHICLE DRIVING HARD, SHIFTING HARD, THE TACHOMETER READING HIGHER AND THE SMELL OF BURNING OIL, THE DEALER CHECK THE VEHICLE AND FOUND NOTHING WRONG, WHILE DRIVING WITH 36K MILES ON THE VEHICLE IT BEGAN TO SMOKE UNDER THE HOOD AND CAUGHT FIRE, THE MANUFACTURER IS DENYING ANY RESPONSIBILITY. WHILE DRIVING ONE OF THE FRONT TIRES BLEWOUT (NO TIRE INFO WAS GIVEN). NLM
AT TIME OF FIRE, DASH BOARD INDICATOR LIGHTS WERE ON FOR LIGHT OUT AND THAT CAR WAS IN LOW GEAR, BUT CAR WAS NOT BEING DRIVEN IN LOW GEAR. ADDITIONALLY, AIR CONDITIONER WAS ON. NO IINDICATOR LIGHTS WERE ON TO INDICATE ANY OTHER PROBLEMS SUCH AS ENGINE WAS OVERHEATED OR LOW IN ANY FLUIDS. I ATTEMPTED TO SHIFT THROUGH LOW GEARS TO REMOVE LOW GEAR INDICATOR LIGHT, BUT THAT DID NOT DO ANYTHING. I PUT CAR IN PARK AND TURNED OFF THE ENGINE. WHEN I TURNED ENGINE BACK ON, AT FIRST THE LOW GEAR INDIC
AT ABOUT 10,000 MILES THE BRAKES WOULD SLIP AND RUMBLE WHEN BRAKING DOWN A HILL. I TOOK THE CAR IN TO COMPLAIN AND THEY TOLD ME THAT THEY COULDN'T FIND ANYTHING WRONG WITH IT. I STARTED AVOIDING HILLS. EVERY TIME I BROUGHT THE CAR IN FOR SERVICE I COMPLAINED ABOUT THIS PROBLEM AND WAS ASSURED THAT NOTHING WAS WRONG. NOW I AM AT 28300 AND I TOOK THE CAR IN FOR MY 30,000 MAINTENCE, NOT AT THE DEALER BUT ANOTHER CERTIFIED VOLVO SHOP. I TELL THEM ABOUT THE PROBLEM. I AM TOLD THAT THE ROTOR IS BAD
CONSUMER WAS SITTING STILL AT A LIGHT & WAS STRUCK FROM THE FRONT TOWARD THE MIDDLE TO RIGHT PASSENGER SIDE. CONSUMER HAS FRONTAL & SIDE AIRBAGS WHICH DIDN'T DEPLOY. MANUFACTURER HAS BEEN CONTACTED & THEY SAID THAT CONSUMER WILL HAVE TO BE RESPONSIBLE FOR PAYMENT.*AK

WHILE DRIVING CONSUMER'S VEHICLE WAS HIT BY ANOTHER DRIVER WHILE MAKING A LEFT TURN. OTHER VEHICLE HIT THE PASSENGER SIDE REAR BUMPER, AND CAUSED CONSUMER TO HIT A TREE. THEN, BOUNCED OFF INTO A RETAINING WALL WHICH STOPPED THE CAR. WINDOWS WERE BUSTED OUT THE WHOLE RIGHT SIDE OF THE VEHICLE WHICH WAS DAMAGED, AND NEITHER AIRBAG DEPLOYED.*AK
TRUNK LID STRUTS FAILED,CAUSED MINOR INJURIES WHEN LID COLLASPED. YH
VEHICLE WAS INVOVLED IN AN ACCIDENT AT 30-35 MPH; HEAD ON COLLISION. UPON IMPACT, BOTH AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY. CAN NHTSA PROVIDE ADDITIONAL INFORMATION *AK.
THE DRIVER'S SIDE AIRBAG DID NOT DEPLOY EVEN THOUGH THE CAR WAS HIT ON THE SIDE. CONTACTED VOLVO AND ASKED TO INSPECT. THEIR ANSWER WAS THAT EVERYTHING WAS OK. I ASKED FOR A REPORT WITH ALL THE ENGINEERING DATA AND SUPPORTING DOCUMENTS TO SHOW WHY IT WAS OK, NO RESPONSE, HAVE ASKED TWICE. THEY SAY EVERYTHING IS OK. I THINK THERE IS A PROBLEM AND THEY ARE HIDING THE TRUTH. THE SIDE AIR BAG SHOULD HAVE DEPLOYED TO GIVE EXTRA PROTECTION. I WAS NOT SATISFIED WITH THEIR ANSWER AND I DO NEED YOU HELP.

FRONT RIGHT WHEEL ASSEMBLY DISENGAGED FROM THE CAR WHILE DRIVING, CAUSING LOSS OF CONTROL AND AN ACCIDENT
WHILE DRIVING HAD NO FRONTAL IMPACTS, HOWEVER, DRIVER'S AND PASSENGER'S AIRBAGS DEPLOYED, CAUSING AN ACCIDENT AND INJURIES WITHOUT ANY WARNING. THE SIDE AIRBAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. PLEASE PROVIDE FURTHER INFORMATION. CURRENTLY BEING INVESTIGATED IN GERMANY. *AK
I WAS TRAVELING ABOUT 15 MPH THROUGH A GREEN LIGHT. AND COMING FROM MY LEFT A 1988 CHEVY S-10 WENT THROUGH A RED LIGHT AT ABOUT 30MPH. I HAD NO TIME TO REACH FOR THE BRAKES, AND I RAMMED INTO THE PASSENGER SIDE OF THE S10 . THE WHOLE FRONT END OF THE VOLVO WAS SMASHED . IF I'M TOLD YOU NEED A HEAD-ON COLLISION FOR DEPLOYMENT OF AIR BAGS. O.K. IF THE WHOLE FRONT END IS GONE WHY DIDN'T THE AIR BAGS WORK. THANK YOU FOR YOUR TIME. *AK
