When shifting the vehicle in reverse the camera goes in black screen mode.
I received a previous recall notice for the backup camera not working and visited the dealership on August 19, 2025 to recieve the software update that was supposed to fix this problem. Since receiving the fix, I have continued to have the same intermittent interruption of the backup camera as I was having before the "fix". I do not believe the software fix helped the issue and this feels like an underpowered hardware issue.
While driving on a highway the car went from drive into neutral all by itself and I could not put it into drive. Managed to get to a break down lane and turned car off and on. It started normally in drive, but that only lasted for 30 seconds when it went back into neutral. I was close to my exit and this happened multiple times - was in drive and it went into neutral on its own! Very dangerous. Car was picked up by Volvo assist and towed away last night. Car is 7 months old car with 3800 m
