Component-level analysis is where model-year complaints become actionable: the top complaint category for the 2016 JUKE is power train with 9 filings, followed by engine (7) and electrical system (5). Concentration in one or two component groups is the classic signature of a systemic defect; a flat distribution usually reflects normal aging, warranty complaints, or isolated build-plant variability. This model year has 1 active recall campaign, which means the manufacturer is obligated to remedy the covered defect at no charge for the life of the vehicle — the full NHTSA campaign numbers are listed below.
NHTSA currently has 54 investigation files overlapping the 2016 JUKE, and 5 remain open. Owners comparing this cohort against neighboring years should pair the counters above with the complaint-by-year trend on the parent model page — a spike in a single year often tracks to a platform refresh, a new transmission supplier, or an updated ECU calibration. Use the related-complaint feed below to read raw owner narratives before deciding whether any pattern here affects your specific use case.

The brakes in my car failed to work, leaving me swirling around on the highway. Yes it is available for inspection. I was a car accident that left me with a concussion and minor injuries. No the car is now totaled. The vehicle did receive an appraisal inspection. No they were absolutely no warnings or anything that made me feel I shouldnât have been driving my car. I kept up on the maintenance well with the help of my warranty company. I did notice in the last few weeks of driving my car though that my check engine light was on.

I'm the only owner of this vehicle. In Dec 2021 (@ 61000 miles) I had problems with steering my vehicle. I went to break and could not break on the expressway. I was on a 55 miles expressway during rush hour traffic. I came to a stop on the side of the road and when I try to engage the accelerator to get off to the exit the car will not move. It kept stalling and making grounding sounds. The steering wheel was hard to turn as well. Had the Nissan dealership tell me the transmission had to be replaced after 10 days of having my car at the dealership. The transmission was replaced. April 2023 (@ 87000 miles), I am back at the dealership with transmission again. This is the same transmission they put there in Dec 2021. I was going less than 10 mile on a normal roadway. The car will not accelerator or move over 10 mph. It sounded like it I was changing gear in a manual car. The abs light would blink off and on for a split second as the car jerk and trying to accelerate. I have also

CPO Juke with 42k miles on it; transmission failure seemingly out of nowhere. RPMs would indicate acceleration but no additional speed could be gained over 40mph. Car would drive fine for about 15 minutes before the transmission would begin to fail again. Took it to dealership, it was diagnosed with transmission failure and transmission was replaced under warranty. Took 2 weeks for the repair request to be granted; a total of 16 days from initial diagnosis to pickup after repairs.

THE CAR KEEPS SHAKING. MY MECHANIC DID SAY THAT NISSAN JUKES HAVE A FAULTY TRANSMISSION. THEY DID THINGS TO MY CAR TO TRY TO FIX IT BUT I STILL FIND IT SHAKING UNCONTROLLABLY.

WAS DRIVING HOME AROUND 6AM AFTER A RAINY NIGHT WHEN I TOOK A TURN AND THE FRONT TIRES LOST TRACTION RESULTING IN THE FRONT RIGHT PASSENGER SIDE STRIKING A CURB. THE CAR WAS ONLY GOING ABOUT 15 MPH WHEN THIS OCCURRED AND THERE IS MINIMAL DAMAGE HOWEVER THE ENTIRE PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAGS DEPLOYED CAUSING MINOR WHIPLASH AND BRUISING TO THE PASSENGER ALTHOUGH IT FEELS AS IF IT COULD HAVE BEEN MUCH WORSE. I'M MAINLY CONCERNED WITH THE AIRBAG BECAUSE I FEEL THAT IF IT DIDN'T GO OFF, THERE WOULD HAVE BEEN NO INJURY UNDER THESE CIRCUMSTANCES.

Driver Airbag Inflator Rupture
