The contact owned a 2013 Nissan Juke. The contact stated that while driving approximately 5 MPH, the front driver-side steering airbag was inadvertently deployed. The air bag emitted black smoke, a chemical substance, fractured her watch off from her wrist due to the impact, and the steering wheel seized. AS A RESULT, THE CONTACT'S VEHICLE CRASHED INTO A PARKED VEHICLE. THE CONTACT SUSTAINED A MODERATE CONCUSSION THAT REQUIRED MEDICAL ATTENTION. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE TECHNICIAN DISCOVERED THAT THE ELECTRONIC BODY CONTROL MODULE (ECM) NEEDED TO BE REPAIRED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 26,000.

I STOPPED TO CHECK THE MAIL BOX APPROXIMATELY 100 FEET ON TOP OF A SMALL HILL ON THE ROAD OF MY CONDOMINIUM COMPLEX, WHERE THE MAIL BOX WAS LOCATED. I WAS FOCUSED ON THE PROCESS OF USING THE NEW PUSH BUTTON SYSTEM OF TURNING OFF THE IGNITION AND CONSEQUENTLY DID NOT SHIFT THE CAR INTO PARK. I TURN
