I HAVE A 2007 SUZUKI GSF1250S MOTORCYCLE. WHEN YOU FILL THE GAS TANK AND PARK IT IN DIRECT SUNLIGHT ON A HOT DAY FOR AN EXTENDED PERIOD OF TIME, A PROBLEM OCCURS WHEN THE BIKE IS THEN DRIVEN. AFTER STARTING THE BIKE AND PULLING AWAY IT WILL RUN FINE UNTIL THE TRANSMISSION IS SHIFTED INTO FOURTH GEAR. THEN THE ENGINE WILL LOSE POWER AND SPUTTER AND SOMETIMES COMPLETELY STALL. THERE IS, OF COURSE A SUDDEN LOSS OF SPEED ASSOCIATED WITH THIS CONDITION. AFTER A LITTLE WHILE THE PROBLEM GOES AWAY AS THE ENGINE WARMS UP. THIS PROBLEM IS VERY REPEATABLE UNDER THESE EXACT CIRCUMSTANCES. I'VE READ ABOUT MANY OTHER 2007-2009 MODELS OF THIS PARTICULAR MOTORCYCLE THAT EXHIBIT THIS SAME CONDITION. *TR

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 SUZUKI BANDIT 1250 GSF MOTORCYCLE. THE CONTACT STATED THE VEHICLE WOULD SPORADICALLY STALL WHEN DRIVING AT VARIOUS SPEEDS OR WHEN ACCELERATING FROM A TRAFFIC STOP. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER SEVERAL TIMES TO ADDRESS THE FAILURE. THE DEALER ADVISED THE FAILURE POTENTIALLY WAS CAUSED BY FUEL TANK OVERFLOW AND THE CHARCOAL CANISTER WAS REPLACED. THE FAILURE DID NOT PERSIST HOWEVER; THE FUEL OVERFLOW TANK BEGAN LEAKING FUEL. THE DEALER DIAGNOSED THE FAILURE AT THE CHARCOAL CANISTER AND REPLACED THE CANISTER, FUEL TANK, AND FUEL CAP. THE DEALER WAS UNABLE TO CONFIRM THAT THE REPAIR WOULD CORRECT THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT DID NOT FEEL SAFE OPERATING THE VEHICLE AND WAS NO LONGER IN POSSESSION OF THE VEHICLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 4,500.

PURCHASED BIKE IN JUNE 2007. FOLLOWED MANUAL'S BREAK IN INSTRUCTIONS. AFTER THE FIRST 110 MILES, RADIATOR WARNING LIGHT HAS BEEN COMES ON IN STOP AND GO TRAFFIC, UNDER 10 MPH, OR AFTER WAITING AT A STOP LIGHT FOR 1 MINUTE OR MORE (BIKE IS COMPLETELY WARMED UP). HAVE ADDED COOLANT EVERY 100-150 MILES. AT 600 MILE SCHEDULED MAINTENANCE LOCAL DEALERSHIP SAID BIKE HAD AN AIR BUBBLE IN SYSTEM AND WAS A QUART LOW ON RADIATOR FLUID. WARNING LIGHT CONTINUED TO COME ON AND COOLANT WAS STILL NEEDING TO BE ADDED EVERY 100 MILES. TOOK TO ANOTHER DEALERSHIP AT 1,293 MILES AND THEY REPLACED THERMOSTAT. AT 1400 MILES, WARNING LIGHT AGAIN CAME ON AND MORE COOLANT WAS ADDED. IF PROBLEM IS NOT RESOLVED, ENGINE WILL OVERHEAT AND LOCK UP WHICH COULD CAUSE A CRASH. *TR
