MY 2006 SUZUKI M109R HAD BEEN JUMPING OUT OF 2ND GEAR, INTO NEUTRAL WHEN I ACCELERATE, AND THE REAR WHEEL LOCKED UP AFTER THAT, WHICH PUT ME INTO A 150' SKID ON THE HIGHWAY, WHICH WAS VERY UNSAFE, AND I COULD HAVE EASILY DIED AS A RESULT OF THIS SERIOUS, RE-OCCURRING MECHANICAL FAILURE THAT SUZUKI DOES NOT WANT TO BE RESPONSIBLE FOR. SUZUKI NEEDS TO BE RESPONSIBLE FOR COVERING THESE COMMON, UNACCEPTABLE, HIGH-RISK SAFETY PROBLEMS, BEFORE OTHERS ARE INJURED, OR KILLED, AND THEN THEY GET SUED FOR IT. THIS IS A VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION, AND IT CANNOT BE TAKEN LIGHTLY, IF YOU ARE A SUZUKI M109R OWNER, WE NEED TO GET TOGETHER, AND HOLD SUZUKI ACCOUNTABLE FOR THIS FAULTY DESIGN. THE SUZUKI M109R HAS A LOT OF TORQUE, AND POWER, AND IT SHOULD HAVE BEEN EQUIPPED WITH A MORE ROBUST, HEAVY DUTY TRANSMISSION, THAT WOULD HAVE BEEN SAFE, BUT IT WAS NOT, AND SUZUKI NEEDS TO FIX THE PROBLEM RESPONSIBLY. I HAVE A 2006 M109R THAT HAS A MAJOR DEFECT IN THE POWERTRAIN. THIS BIKE ONLY HAVE A LITTLE OVER 5,000 MILES ON IT AND IT TENDS TO FALL OUT OF SECOND GEAR BACK INTO NEUTRAL. THIS IS VERY UNSAFE AND COULD VERY WELL CAUSE YOU TO LOOSE CONTROL OF THE BIKE. THERE HAS BEEN A NUMBER OF PEOPLE THAT I HAVE COME ACROSS WITH THE SAME ISSUE. SUZUKI NEEDS TO ADDRESS A RECALL CONCERNING THIS ISSUE BEFORE SOMEONE GETS HURT OR KILLED. THIS WILL BE THE LAST OF ANY SUZUKI PRODUCT THAT I WILL EVER PURCHASE FOR NOW OR THE NEAR FUTURE BECAUSE THEY OR NOT STANDING BEHIND THERE BRAND EVEN IF IT IS A RISK TO MANY PEOPLE LIVES ACROSS THE COUNTRY.

I AM THE OWNER OF A 2006 SUZUKI BOULEVARD M109R AND I HAVE BEEN HAVING TROUBLE WITH MY TRANSMISSION FOR OVER A YEAR NOW, MY SECOND GEAR DOES NOT STAY ENGAGED , AS SOON AS I SHIFT INTO SECOND GEAR AND ACCELERATE IT GOES BACK INTO NEUTRAL, I ATTEMPT TO SHIFT INTO SECOND GEAR AGAIN AND THE SAME THING HAPPENS ALL OVER AGAIN, NO SECOND GEAR, APPARENTLY I AM NOT THE ONLY OWNER WHO'S HAVING THIS PROBLEM FROM WHAT I'VE READ ON THE INTERNET ON MANY DIFFERENT FORUMS AND LOCAL FRIENDS THAT HAVE THE YEAR, MAKE AND MODEL MOTORCYCLE AS MINE. IT IS VERY UNSAFE TO SHIFT FROM FIRST TO THIRD GEAR, NOT TO MENTION THE WEAR AND THE STRESS IT PUTS ON THE MOTORCYCLE AND POSSIBLY CAUSING MORE MECHANICAL ISSUES.

PURCHASED THE BIKE IN LATE JUNE WITH LESS THAN 1800 MILES. GOT A VIBRATION FEEL & SMALL TAPPING NOISE A COUPLE DAYS LATER. TOOK BACK TO DEALER & THEY DIDN'T FEEL IT OR HEAR IT. THEN IN SEPT WENT FOR A SHORT RIDE WITH A FRIEND & IT STARTED KNOCKING & TRYING TO STALL OUT. CALLED THE DEALER & WITH LOTS OF PROBLEMS FINALLY GOT THEM TO DIAGNOSE IT. IT NEEDS THE MOTOR REBUILT WITH PISTONS, RODS & CRANK. THEY HAD DONE THE TURN UP & CHANGED THE OIL BEFORE WE PICKED IT UP AFTER PURCHASE AND THEY DIDN'T SEEM TO SEE ANY PROBLEMS THEN. DON'T KNOW HOW IT COULD NEED THE MOTOR REBUILT WITH LESS THAN 2500 MILES ON IT. THE MOTOR ISN'T EVEN BROKE IN YET. HAS THERE BEEN ANY PROBLEMS WITH THIS? I AM HAVING TO SHELL OUT $3500 FOR REPAIRS I DON'T FEEL I SHOULD AND AREN'T MY FAULT. *TR

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 SUZUKI BOULEVARD M109R MOTORCYCLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE MOTORCYCLE WOULD LUNGE FORWARD WHENEVER HE SHIFTED INTO SECOND GEAR. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE THE TECHNICIAN DIAGNOSED THAT THE CLUTCH WAS DEFECTIVE AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED BUT SHORTLY AFTER, THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 6,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 10,000.

THIS PROBLEM HAS PROGRESSIVELY GOT WORSE. THE BIKE WILL SLIP OUT OF SECOND GEAR INTO NEUTRAL WHILE ACCELERATING. IT HAS GOTTEN TO THE POINT THAT I CAN BARELY ACCELERATE IN SECOND WITHOUT IT SLIPPING OUT, SO I SHIFT UP TO THIRD AS QUICK AS I CAN TO PREVENT THIS FROM HAPPENING. WHILE LEAVING WORK I WAS SHIFTING OUT OF 1ST GEAR AND WHILE GOING INTO SECOND GEAR THE BIKE POPPED OUT OF SECOND GEAR AND MADE A LOUD GRINDING NOISE. AFTER IT POPPED OUT OF GEAR I HAD TO PUT MY FOOT DOWN IN ORDER TO KEEP FROM FALLING OVER CAUSE I WAS IN THE MIDDLE OF A TURN WHEN THIS HAPPENED. WHEN I PUT MY FOOT DOWN I TWISTED MY KNEE. I SPOKE WITH A SUZUKI CUSTOMER SERVICE REPRESENTATIVE THIS MORNING AND TOLD HIM I WASN'T ANGRY ABOUT MY KNEE HURTING AS IT EXACERBATED AN OLD INJURY I RECEIVED WHILST IN BASIC TRAINING WITH THE AIR FORCE. I JUST WANTED SOME ANSWERS BUT ALAS I WAS PROVIDED NONE. HE TOLD ME THAT HE WAS SORRY AND WHATNOT BUT DIDN'T OFFER ANY FIXES FOR THE ISSUE. THIS BIKE HAS A DANGEROUS FLAW AND THEY NEED TO RECALL THESE BIKES BEFORE SOMEONE GETS A MAJOR INJURY OR GETS KILLED. *TR

I PURCHASED THE SUZUKI M109R BRAND NEW, WITHIN 2 MONTHS I BEGIN HAVING PROBLEMS WITH THE 2ND GEAR SLIPPING OUT. I TOOK THE BIKE TO DEALERSHIP IMMEDIATELY, WITH NO POSITIVE RESULTS. IN 2006 THEY CLAIMED THAT THESE PROBLEMS WERE NOT APPARENT TO SUZUKI. I RECENTLY FOUND PASS INVOICES FROM DEALERSHIP THAT EXPLAINED THAT THERE HAD NOT BEEN ANY DEFECTS OR COMPLAINTS REFERRING THE TRANSMISSION IN 2006. I WAS OFFERED A ONE TIME "GOODWILL" SERVICE DUE TO THE FACT THAT THE BIKE WAS BRAND NEW. I GOT MY BIKE BACK AND WITHIN 8 MONTHS THE 2ND GEAR STARTED SLIPPING OUT OF GEAR, SO I SKIPPED 2ND GEAR AND WENT STRAIGHT TO 3RD. AS OF 2009 THE BIKE HAS BEEN SITTING WITH A TRANSMISSION THAT IS DEFECTED AND BADLY IN NEED OF REPAIR. THIS BIKE IS A VERY POWERFUL BIKE AND I FEEL THE TRANSMISSION WAS NOT MADE EFFICIENT ENOUGH FOR THE POWER THAT THIS ENGINE CARRIES. I DEEPLY ENJOYED THE BIKE, I JUST WANT MY BIKE FIXED. IT HAPPENED WHEN ACCELERATING AWAY FROM A STOPLIGHT. I WAS BEHIND OTHER VEHICLES SO I WAS NOT RACING THE ENGINE WHEN SHIFTING. I HAD TO NEGOTIATE MY BIKE TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD OUT OF TRAFFIC FROM THE FAST LANE IN NEUTRAL. WITH THE DRIVERS NOWADAYS TAILGATING YOU TO GET TO THE LATEST NEW STORE OPENING HAVING A MOTORCYCLE COMPLETELY SLIP OUT OF GEAR WHILE EVERY OTHER VEHICLE AROUND YOU IS ACCELERATING IS DANGEROUS. I HAD THREE CARS NEARLY SIDESWIPE ME WHILE COASTING TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. SCARY. YOU BET. I THINK WITH LESS THAN 4100 MILES SUZUKI NEEDS TO RETHINK THEIR QUALITY ISSUES WITH M109R TRANSMISSIONS BEFORE SOMEONE GETS KILLED OR SERIOUSLY INJURED.
