ABS BRAKE SYSTEM HAS SPRUNG A LEAK AT THE PISTON ASSEMBLY INPUT SHAFT SEAL. THE LIFE TIME WARRANTEE SHOULD APPLY TO THIS PROBLEM. THE DEALER I AM WORKING WITH INFORMS ME THE REPAIR PARTS ARE NO LONGER AVAILABLE AND ARE REQUESTING DIAGNOSTIC FEES UP FRONT. I HAVE CONFIRMED 3 PART NUMBERS THAT ARE AVAILABLE FOR A DOZEN OTHER CHRYSLER VEHICLES TO BE THE SAME PHYSICAL PART IN THOSE 3 AND THE SAME PART FOR MY PLYMOUTH. ALL REFERENCE FOR THE PLYMOUTH PART NUMBER SHOW NO LONGER AVAILABLE. THEY ARE USING MULTIPLE PART NUMBERS FOR THE SAME PART IN DECEPTIVE WAYS TO AVOID REPAIRS. THE ABS SYSTEM FAILED THREE TIMES ON 4/15/08. THE VEHICLE IS A PLYMOUTH GRAND VOYAGER, 1993. I ALMOST HIT A CAR THAT WAS TURNING IN FRONT OF ME. THEN THE ABS AND PARKING BRAKE LIGHTS LIT UP ON THE DASH BOARD. I BARELY MADE IT HOME WITHOUT HITTING ANYTHING AND PARKED MY CAR IN THE GARAGE. WHEN I WENT OUT A FEW MINUTES LATER TO TAKE IT TO A MECHANIC NEARBY, THE BRAKE PEDAL DROPPED WHEN I TURNED THE KEY TO START THE CAR. THE BRAKES WERE MUSHY UNTIL I GOT IT TO THE MECHANIC. HE CONFIRMED THE PROBLEM IS WITH THE ABS SYSTEM AND THAT IT WAS COVERED UNDER THE RECALL. THE BYERS CHRYSLER DEALERSHIP NOW HAS THE CAR AND IS CLAIMING THEY CANNOT REPRODUCE THE PROBLEM AND WILL NOT REPLACE THE ABS UNTIL THEY CAN. ACCORDING TO THE CONTACT, THE RECALL STATED THAT THE CONSUMER COULD GET A FREE REMEDY ANY TIME AFTER RECEIVING THE NOTICE FOR THE LIFE OF THE VEHICLE. THE CONSUMER WAS TOLD THE DUAL PRESSURE SWITCH WAS APART OF THE ABS AND WAS NOT COVERED UNDER ANY RECALL. THE CONSUMER WAS TOLD THAT THE PRESSURE SWITCH FAILED BECAUSE THE ABS/PUMP MOTOR HAD FAILED SO MANY TIMES. UPDATED 12/01/06. *JB THE STATED THE ABS MODULE HAD BEEN REPLACED 5 TIMES

I OWN A 1993 PLYMOUTH GRAND VOYAGER LE 3.3L V6 THAT HAS A PROBLEM WITH STALLING. IT IS VERY DANGEROUS AND HAS OCCURRED SEVERAL TIMES WHILE DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY. IT SEEMS TO HAPPEN ONLY AFTER THE ENGINE HAS REACHED OPERATING TEMPERATURE AND WHILE OF EITHER APPLY THE BRAKES OR SITTING AT A DEAD STOP. SEVERAL MECHANIC SHOPS HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO DIAGNOSE THE PROBLEM OR SIMPLY DO NOT KNOW WHAT THE CAUSE IS. AFTER DOING RESEARCH INTO THIS MATTER, I HAVE FOUND THAT SEVERAL PLYMOUTH GRAND VOYAGER OWNERS HAVE HAD THESE SAME EXACT PROBLEMS. THE FUEL PUMP AND FILTER HAVE BEEN CHANGED AND VARIOUS SENSORS AS WELL. THIS IS A HAZARD NOT ONLY TO MYSELF AND MY FAMILY, BUT TO ALL OTHER DRIVERS THAT MAY BE ON THE ROAD AND AROUND MY VEHICLE WHEN THIS OCCURS. WITH THE NUMBER OF REPORTS THAT I HAVE SEEN, I THINK THAT DAIMLER/CHRYSLER SHOULD CHECK INTO THIS PROBLEM, ISSUE A RECALL, AND FIX THIS PROBLEM BEFORE SOMEONE GETS HURT OR POSSIBLE KILLED. *JB
