WHILE DRIVING 55 MPH, THE DRIVER APPLIED THE BRAKES AND THE PEDAL WENT TO THE FLOOR. THIS CAUSED THE DRIVER TO LOOSE BRAKING POWER. THE DRIVER PUMPED THE BRAKE PEDAL FOUR TIMES IN ORDER TO STOP. THEN THE DRIVER PULLED OVER. SMOKE WAS COMING FROM THE FRONT DRIVER SIDE WHEEL. THE DRIVER HAD THE VEHICLE TOWED TO THE DEALER FOR INSPECTION. THE MECHANIC INFORMED THE DRIVER THAT THE HUB CAP MELTED TO THE RIM. THE BRAKE CONTROLLER MODULAR NEEDED REPLACING DUE TO THE SENSOR INSIDE. THE BRAKE PADS,
THE FUEL RAIL LOCATED ON THE FUEL INJECTION SYSTEM WAS LEAKING GAS ONTO THE ENGINE MANIFOLD, RESULTING IN A FIRE. THE FIRE WAS EXTINGUISHED BY CONSUMER. *AK

CONSUMER HIT FENCE TO GET VEHICLE TO STOP. DAMAGE WAS $ 2000. CONSUMER DID NOT HAVE TIME TO APPLY BRAKES AGAIN, WAS CONCERNED ABOUT HITTING ANOTHER VEHICLE. PLEASE ADD ADDITIONAL INFORMATION. *AK
ON 2/25/01, MY 16 YR. OLD DAUGHTER WAS TRAVELING ON A DIRT ROAD AT A SPEED OF APPROX. 25MPH AND HIT AN ICEY SPOT. SHE LOST CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE. THE DRIVERS SIDE DOOR AND DRIVERS SIDE FRONT SUSTAINED DAMAGE AS DID THE PASSENGER SIDE FRONT AND SIDE. SHE WAS SEATBELTED IN9 THERE WERE BRUISES ON HER CHEST AND NECK FROM THE SEATBELT. THE AIRBAG DID NOT DEPLOY AND THE SEATBELT SOMEHOW RELEASED AND SHE WAS FOUND ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. SHE FRACURED 7 VERTEBRAE IN HER BACK, LEFT FACIAL BONE FRACTURE

CONSUMER IMMEDIATELY TOOK FAMILY FROM VEHICLE, AND THEN REAR TEMPERATURE CONTROL PANEL LOCATED BEHIND DRIVER SHOT OF FIRE. VEHICLE BURNED TOTALLY TO THE GROUND. CONSUMER FELT THIS WAS VERY DANGEROUS BECAUSE A CHILD WAS SITTING RIGHT WHERE FIRE SHOT OUT.*AK
