TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 1997 PLYMOUTH BREEZE. WHILE DRIVING AT VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE CONTACT HEARD A NOISE COMING FROM REAR WHEEL DRUM ON THE PASSENGER SIDE. WHILE ATTEMPTING TO PARK, SMOKE EMITTED FROM THE REAR WHEEL CAUSING A FIRE. THE FAILURE RECURRED THREE TIMES. THE FIRE WAS EXTINGUISHED BY THE FIRE DEPARTMENT AND NO POLICE REPORT WAS FILED.THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE BRAKE SYSTEM NEEDED TO BE REPLACED ON THE REAR TIRE. ON THIS SUNDAY AT 12:15 PM MY 1997 PLYMOUTH BREEZE CAUGHT ON FIRE. IT WAS SITTING IN THE DRIVEWAY WITH NO ONE AROUND IT. MY WIFE NOTICED IT WHEN THE HORN STARTED BLOWING. I WAS ACROSS THE STREET AT A NEIGHBORS. FLAMES WERE SHOOTING OUT OF THE FRONT WINDSHIELD. THE DASH ABOVE THE STEERING WHEEL, THE STEERING WHEEL IT SELF AND THE DRIVER SIDE DOOR AREA MELTED AND BLACKENED THE WORSE. THE FIRE DEPT. WAS CALLED IMMEDIATELY. *JB

WHILE DRIVING ABOUT 20 MPH THE VEHICLE WAS INVOLVED IN A COLLISION AND THE AIRBAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. THE MANUFACTURER HAS BEEN NOTIFIED. *AK
