Nissan North America, Inc. (Nissan) is recalling certain 2012-2017 NV Cargo and NV Passenger Van, 2013-2015 Titan and Armada and 2011-2012 Infiniti QX56 vehicles. Due to a manufacturing issue, the air bag inflator may not function properly or may rupture during deployment.

The contact owned a 2013 Nissan Titan. The contact stated the vehicle was serviced under NHTSA Campaign Number: 20V188000 (Air Bags) however, the contact's husband was driving at 55 mph, where the driver saw a deer in the road and swerved in order to avoid hitting the deer but the vehicle hit a driveway covert which caused the vehicle to flip several times and hit a utility pole. ON APRIL 5TH, 2015 WHEN ATTEMPTING TO TRANSFER FROM MY WHEELCHAIR TO THE DRIVERS SEAT OF MY 2013 NISSAN TITAN THE GRAB HANDLE ON THE A-PILLAR BROKE CAUSING ME TO FALL ONTO THE GROUND. THE INERTIA WAS ENOUGH TO CAUSE MY WHEELCHAIR AND I TO GO OVER BACKWARD RESULTING IN INJURIES TO THE BACK OF MY HEAD AND LEFT ELBOW.
