The 2005NISSANTITAN carries 1103 consumer safety complaints in NHTSA's Office of Defects Investigation database for this specific model-year cohort. Within that volume, owners reported 15 crashes, 7 fires, 11 injuries, and 0 fatalities. No NCAP 5-star crash-test rating is available for this model year in the federal database.

Component-level analysis is where model-year complaints become actionable: the top complaint category for the 2005 TITAN is power train with 193 filings, followed by power train:driveline (134) and power train:driveline:differential unit (82). Concentration in one or two component groups is the classic signature of a systemic defect; a flat distribution usually reflects normal aging, warranty complaints, or isolated build-plant variability. This model year has 6 active recall campaigns, which means the manufacturer is obligated to remedy the covered defect at no charge for the life of the vehicle — the full NHTSA campaign numbers are listed below.

NHTSA currently has 54 investigation files overlapping the 2005 TITAN, and 5 remain open. Owners comparing this cohort against neighboring years should pair the counters above with the complaint-by-year trend on the parent model page — a spike in a single year often tracks to a platform refresh, a new transmission supplier, or an updated ECU calibration. 20220310FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM

My truck just stopped in the middle of the road while driving. I could not move the steering wheel and the engine would not turn over. The gas hand was registering a quarter of a tank of fuel so I did not think that I had run out of gas. After being towed to the shop the mechanic checked the vehicle and said that it was just out of gas but the gas gauge was still registering 1/4 of a tank of gas. Gas was put in the truck and it started right up. The mechanic informed me of a recall on the 2005 nissan titans that matched what was happening to my truck. When I informed nissan they told me there is a recall but that my vin number is not included in the recall. I have had the same incident where the truck just shut off 2 more times now and this should be covered by the nissan recall since this is the exact problem that is happening to my truck that is stated in the recall and my truck is the exact year. Can someone please help me to get nissan to honor this recall for my truck? Rec
