The 2014JAGUARXF carries 17 consumer safety complaints in NHTSA's Office of Defects Investigation database for this specific model-year cohort. Within that volume, owners reported 0 crashes, 3 fires, 0 injuries, and 1 fatality. For crash performance, NHTSA's New Car Assessment Program gave this cohort an overall Not Rated/5 rating, with Not Rated/5 front crash, Not Rated/5 side crash, and Not Rated/5 rollover scores derived from standardized barrier and dynamic tests.
Component-level analysis is where model-year complaints become actionable: the top complaint category for the 2014 XF is fuel/propulsion system with 4 filings, followed by engine (4) and air bags (2). Concentration in one or two component groups is the classic signature of a systemic defect; a flat distribution usually reflects normal aging, warranty complaints, or isolated build-plant variability. This model year has 7 active recall campaigns, which means the manufacturer is obligated to remedy the covered defect at no charge for the life of the vehicle — the full NHTSA campaign numbers are listed below.
NHTSA currently has 2 investigation files overlapping the 2014 XF. Owners comparing this cohort against neighboring years should pair the counters above with the complaint-by-year trend on the parent model page — a spike in a single year often tracks to a platform refresh, a new transmission supplier, or an updated ECU calibration. Use the related-complaint feed below to read raw owner narratives before deciding whether any pattern here affects your specific use case.

I was driving at a high speed. 65 mph and went to accelerate to pass another vehicle and when I pushed the gas there was no power, the steering wheel locked up and I went off the side of the barley missing the ditch and then stopped. The i tried to restart it and the check engine light came of and after a couple attempts I had to have it towed to Jaguar of tacoma. My car is a 2024 with only 46000 miles on it. This shouldnât be happening. I have to other vehicle to drive. I commute for work so I need a reliable car, which I did my research and thought this was one.

I took my car for the 35000 mile service and I am needing to replace the lower coolant outlet Y pipe, which has been recalled on Jaguars the same year and manufacturing plant as mine. The part nu,nets are the same ones on the recall. Also the brake axle.? Which I think there may have been a recall. I do t know if you have had any other complaints on this matter, but I feel Jaguar should acknowledge it may have more cars that are defective and fix them.

IN OCTOBER 2014, I PURCHASED A JAGUAR XF MODEL, THE CAR WAS USED AS AN EXECUTIVE DEMO FOR THREE MONTHS PRIOR TO MY PURCHASE. OVER THE YEARS, I HAVE SERVICED THE VEHICLE AT THE DEALERSHIP ONLY, THE CAR HAS EXCELLENT SERVICE RECORDS, AND HAS NEVER BEEN SERVICED ANYWHERE ELSE. ON 01/02/2020, THE 96,000 MILES SERVICE APPOINTMENT WAS DONE ON THE VEHICLE. ON MONDAY, JANUARY 27,2020, I WAS DRIVING HOME FROM WORK AND I HEARD A KNOCKING SOUND, I PULL OVER TO GET OFF THE HIGHWAY EXIT AND THE CAR LOSES ALL POWER. THE CAR HAD TO BE TOWED TO THE DEALERSHIP. SEVERAL DAYS LATER THE DEALERSHIP INFORMED ME THAT THE CAR'S ENGINE WAS COMPLETELY LOCKED UP AND THAT IT WOULD BE $20,000 TO FIX THE CAR, THE DEALER OFFERED DISCOUNTS AND I RECEIVED A CREDIT FROM JAGUAR CORPORATE, WHICH BOUGHT THE SERVICE PRICE DOWN TO $7,000. THE DEALERSHIP BELIEVES THAT SOMETHING BROKE APART IN THE ENGINE, CAUSING IT TO LOCK UP. BUT I AM REFUSING TO PAY THE $7,000, MY CAR HAS EXCELLENT SERVICE RECORDS AND HAS NEVER BEEN SERVIC

THERE IS AN OPEN RECALL FOR THE AIRBAGS INFLATOR HOUSING SINCE DECEMBER 2017. AS PER A LETTER RECEIVED FROM JAGUAR THE REMEDY WONT BE AVAILABLE UNTIL MARCH 2019. THAT IS AN AWFULLY LONG TIME- 1 YR AND 4 MONTHS, TO FIX AN ISSUE. EVEN AFTER THAT GOD KNOWS HOW MUCH TIME THEY ARE GOING TO BE TAKE TO ACTUALLY FIX THIS ONCE A REMEDY IS AVAILABLE. ESPECIALLY WHEN THIS IS A SERIOUS ISSUE WHICH CAN RESULT IN DEATH. JAGUAR NEEDS TO BE PUSHED SO AS TO COMPLETE THIS ASAP SINCE THIS IS AN AWFULLY LONG TIME TO BE DRIVING AN UNSAFE CAR.
TAKATA RECALL. IT IS UNACCEPTABLE THAT THE PARTS NECESSARY TO MAKE OUR CAR SAFE ARE NOT AVAILABLE AND MAY NOT BE UNTIL MARCH 30TH, 2019. THAT IS OVER A YEAR AWAY. SO FOR THE NEXT YEAR WE ARE SUPPOSED TO DRIVE OUR CAR AND HOPE THE PASSENGER ISN'T KILLED BY THE AIR BAG?
I WAS DRIVING ON THE 495 OUT OF THE LINCOLN TUNNEL AND MY LEFT FRONT TIRE WENT FLAT. I DID NOT HIT ANY POTHOLES. TWO DAYS LATER DRIVING ON RIVER ROAD IN EDGEWATER NJ I HIT A SMALL POTHOLE, IT WAS DARK AND TORRENTIAL DOWNPOURS, MY TIRE IMMEDIATELY WENT FLAT. WE PULLED INTO A INDOOR GARAGE, CHANGED THE TIRE, WENT TO BACK OUT OF THE PARKING SPOT AND THE BACK TIRE WENT FLAT. I DO NOT FEEL SAFE WITH THESE TIRES. THEY ARE CONTINENTAL - CONTI PRO CONTACT. *TR
