BOUGHT A NEW JAGUAR S-TYPE IN 2001. ON 8/9/04 WITH 10723 MILES THE TRANSMISSION FAILED AND WAS REPLACEMENT. ON 12/29/06 TOOK CAR IN BECAUSE OF TRANSMISSION ISSUES (27302 MILES). I WAS TOLD THE CAR WAS OPERATING WITHIN SPECS. ON 7/7/07 TOOK CAR IN AGAIN WITH COMPLAINT REGARDING TRANSMISSION (32625 MILES) AND AGAIN WAS TOLD THE CARS TRANSMISSION WAS OPERATING WITHIN SPECS. ON APRIL 17, 2009 WHILE DRIVING, THE TRANSMISSION FAILED, AND CAR WENT INTO LIMP MODE. CAR WAS TOWED. THE JAGUAR REPAIR SHOP STATED THE TRANSMISSION FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED (AT ~45,000 MILES, NOTE THAT THIS IS ONLY 35,000 MILES AFTER FIRST REPLACEMENT). *TR

TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2001 JAGUAR S TYPE. THE CONTACT TOOK HER VEHICLE TO THE DEALER TO PURCHASE NEW TIRES AND WAS INFORMED THAT THE LOWER BALL JOINTS WERE LOOSE. SHE REFERENCED SAFETY RECALL # 00V359002 (SUSPENSION: FRONT CONTROL ARM: LOWER BALL JOINTS), HOWEVER, THE RECALL DID NOT APPLY TO HER VIN. THE VIN, PURCHASE DATE, ENGINE SIZE, AND MILEAGE INFORMATION WAS UNKNOWN.

I OWE A JAGUAR S-TYPE IT HAS SEVERAL MECHANICAL PROBLEM. I NOTICED THERE IS NO DATA NO WHERE POSTED REGARDING THIS VEHICLE. (NHTSA,IIHS, OR DOT). NO DATA ANYWHERE ON THE JAGUAR S-TYPE. I THINK THAT SHOULD THROW UP SOME RED FLAG AS TO WHY ARE THEY HIDING SOMETHING? (1) ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS MY WINDSHIELD WIPER FAIL TO OPERATE. THE VEHICLE WAS IN FOR SERVICE, THE MECHANICS STATED THAT THERE WAS A FUSE BLOWN, HOWEVER WHEN THE FUSE WAS REPLACED THE WINDSHIELD WIPERS CONTINUED TO MALFUNCTION. THEY WORK LESS THAN 50 % OF THE TIME NEEDED. (2) I LIVE IN MICHIGAN, ALOT OF SNOW, ICE & RAIN, ON MORE THAN ONE OCCASION I WOULD BE DRIVE IN THE SNOW OR RAIN, AND THE WIPERS WOULD JUST STOP OPERATING FOR NO APPARENT REASON. LEAVING ME TOTALLY VISUALLY IMPAIRED. I WOULD HAVE TO TURN ON MY FLASHERS, & PULL OFF THE ROAD, THEN WAIT UNTIL THE RAIN STOPS OR LEAVE THE CAR AND CALL FOR A RIDE HOME. I HAVE LOSS TIME AT WORK BECAUSE OF THIS ISSUE, ALSO MISSED SEVERAL APPOINTMENTS BECAUSE OF THIS CONTINUE P

WHILE TRAVELING SOUTH ON I-275 IN ST PETERSBURG, FLORIDA, IN THE MIDDLE LANE WITH LIGHT TRAFFIC, IN CLEAR WEATHER WITH ACCELENT VISIBILITY, AT BETWEEN 60 AND 65 MILES PER HOUR, THE PASSENGER SIDE, SIDE IMPACT AIRBAG SUDDENLY DEPLOYED. THE EXPLOSIVE DEPLOYMENT SPRAYED SHARDS OF HARD PLASTIC THROUGHOUT THE PASSENGER COMPARTMENT. THERE WAS NO APPARENT DAMAGE TO THE VEHICLE. THE PROBLEM WAS CAUSED BY AN IMPACT OF A SMALL PROJECTILE, PROBABLY A MEDIUM SIZE PEBBLE THROWN UP FROM THE BOTTOM OF THE FRONT RIGHT WHEEL, STRIKING THE BOTTOM OF THE VEHICLE, WHICH SENT A FALSE SIGNAL OF A SIDE IMPACT TO THE SIDE IMPACT SENSOR. THE BOTTOM OF THE VEHICLE WAS CLEAN AND FREE OF ANY DAMAGE EXCEPT FOR A SLIGHT INDENTATION ALMOST DIRECTLY BEHIND THE LEFT SIDE OF THE RIGHT FRONT TIRE, A FEW FEET BEHIND THE FRONT RIGHT TIRE. THE DAMAGE AREA CONSISTED OF AN INDENTATION IN THE BOTTOM OF THE CAR; IT MEASURED APPROXIMATELY 1.5 INCHES IN LENGTH BY .33 INCHES IN WIDTH, RUNNING LENGTHWISE TO THE VEHICLE. THE I
