Component-level analysis is where model-year complaints become actionable: the top complaint category for the 2016 F-TYPE is engine with 3 filings, followed by electrical system (3) and power train (2). Concentration in one or two component groups is the classic signature of a systemic defect; a flat distribution usually reflects normal aging, warranty complaints, or isolated build-plant variability. This model year has 1 active recall campaign, which means the manufacturer is obligated to remedy the covered defect at no charge for the life of the vehicle — the full NHTSA campaign numbers are listed below.
NHTSA currently has 2 investigation files overlapping the 2016 F-TYPE. Owners comparing this cohort against neighboring years should pair the counters above with the complaint-by-year trend on the parent model page — a spike in a single year often tracks to a platform refresh, a new transmission supplier, or an updated ECU calibration. Jaguar Land Rover North America, LCC (Jaguar) is recalling one 2016 Jaguar F-Type vehicle manufactured February 3, 2015. The affected vehicle has the power steering system still set in the supplier's factory operating mode. In this condition, in the event of a steering system malfunction, the vehi

I have been encountering a persistent issue with the engine, which exhibits symptoms of underperformance, occasionally necessitating a complete stop. Additionally, the ABS warning light activates intermittently without providing any diagnostic codes before subsequently disappearing. A recent diagnostic check identified several minor concerns. I've also observed a degradation in the vehicle's handling characteristics, paired with a "Stability Control No Longer Available" warning message. I have ruled out a fuse-related issue, as all fuses have been assessed and found to be functional. Furthermore, my vehicle seems subject to additional recall considerations. Reports of stability control failures have emerged in various Jaguar models, including the F-Type, typically attributable to sensor failures or malfunctions within the electronic control module. Common culprits for these stability control issues include faulty wheel speed sensors or problems with the ABS control module. Such

The Rear Differential started making an odd noise. Took it to the dealer where it is now and they said it needs a new rear differential. They are blaming the tires...
I was traveling at the legal speed limit of 70 mph on the freeway with no vehicles within 50 yards of my vehicle in all directions. I had been driving for about an hour and was on a bluetooth connected phone call through the car speakers when I heard the sound of glass popping and shattering over my left shoulder. First, I looked in the rear view mirror to see if the hatch window had shattered, but it had not. Next, I looked over my left shoulder at the driver side quarter window, the vehicle only has two seats so there is no back door window, and saw that it was completely shattered but held in place with the protective film car windows are required to have. I existed the freeway the first chance that I had, and pulled into a lot to inspect the window. There were no indications of any entry projectile such as a rock, debris from the road, or even the remote chance a bullet or BB from a BB gun. In other words, the window had just shattered on it's own. I was able to purchase clear
I own a 2016 Jaguar F-Type R. Some of these cars have an inherent manufacturing flaw with the coating on the trim pieces. From my research I discovered that this is a wide ranging problem for their vehicles in geographic locations that are consistently hot. Jaguar Land Rover North America is well aware of this problem. On 1/24/20 I brought my vehicle in for service. On this service call the vehicle was under warranty. I pointed out the issue with the right side vent trim piece, the worst of the deteriorating parts. The coating was deteriorating from the heat. In these cases they start to peel or become sticky like rubber cement. The other trim pieces also needed to be replaced. They replaced the old flawed part with a new flawed part. For this reason I thought it useless to have the other failing parts replaced, as they would eventually deteriorate. I discovered that new replacement parts were available, that could have been replaced under warranty, that do not have the deteriorati
THIS CAR IS EQUIPPED WITH THE 6 SPEED MANUAL TRANSMISSION. WHEN SHIFTING UP, EVEN IF YOU TAKE YOU FOOT OFF THE ACCELERATOR COMPLETELY, THE ENGINE DOES NOT RESPOND TO THE ACCELERATOR INPUT AS IT REMAINS AT THE RPM WHEN THE SHIFT WAS INITIATED ( 3500 RPM AS AN EXAMPLE ) FOR OVER A SECOND, DROPS 200 RPM THEN INCREASES 50 RPM AND THEN FINALLY WILL DROP TO IDLE. THE ENGINE IS NOT RESPONDING TO THROTTLE INPUT WHEN SHIFTING THIS LEAVES THE ENGINE AT A MUCH HIGHER RPM WHEN TRYING TO SHIFT UP AND MAKES IT IMPOSSIBLE TO SHIFT SMOOTHLY SINCE THE ENGINE IS REVVING TO HIGH FOR THE NEXT SELECTED UP SHIFT. IT CAUSES UNINTENDED ACCELERATION WHEN SHIFTING BECAUSE THE ENGINE SPEED IS TOO HIGH FOR THE NEXT GEAR SELECTION. THIS HAPPENS ALL THE TIME. IT NEVER NOT DOES IT. THE DATE BELOW IS JUST TODAYS DATE. AND IT HAPPENS AT ALL SPEEDS. I BOUGHT THE CAR AS A CERTIFIED PRE-OWNED. IT HAD 1031 MILES WHEN I BOUGHT IT. I REALIZED WHAT WAS HAPPENING AFTER DRIVING FOR SEVERAL HUNDRED MILES.

FOLLOWING "REPAIRS" AT THE DEALERSHIP ON COOLING SYSTEM, CAR NOTIFIED ME OF OVERHEATING HALF WAY HOME WHILE ON HIGHWAY. AFTER NEARLY CRASHING AND BEING HIT IN TRYING TO PULL OVER TO STOP THE VEHICLE, I OPENED THE HOOD TO FIND THE COOLENT LINES HAD BEEN SHAVED AND REPAIRS IN OTHER AREAS VERY POORLY DONE. CAR CONSTANTLY IS LEAKING COOLANT AND OIL. I HAVE ALSO REPLACED THE BATTERY 4 TIMES AND THE CAR REQUIRES DAILY JUMP STARTING. THE CAR PAINT INDICATED A REPAINT JOB WHEN DEL8VERED TO ME WITH 100 MILES OF IT. AFTER CLAIMING TO HAVE REALIGNED THE TIRES AFTER MY FRONTS WENT BAD AFTER 5000 MILES, I DISCOVERED THAT THEY HAD NOT BEEN BALANCED NOR ALIGNED. I LEFT ONE WHEEL NUT LOSE BEFORE SERVICE ON EACH TIRE AND EACH WAS STILL LOSE AFTER. JAGUAR HAS DEFRAUDED ME ON MULTIPLE LEVELS, THREATENED ME FOR USING A OB2 CAR CODE READER AND GENERALLY COMMITTED MULTIPLE CORPORATE CRIMES FOR WHICH I AM SEEKING SIGNIFICANT ACTION. I AM BASED IN NASHVILLE. DESPITE 23 TRIPS TO THE DEALER IN 5 MONTHS, JAGUAR

WHEN CHANGING LANES @ APP. 45MPH, THE CAR INITIALLY FELT AS IF IT WOULD ROLL OVER. THE CAR THEN SWERVED RIGHT AND LEFT , NEARLY PUSHING ME INTO THE TRAFFIC IN THE NEXT LANE. STEERING WAS VERY DIFFICULT TO CONTROL, REQUIRING MY FULL STRENGTH. AFTER A FEW MINUTES, THE CAR STRAIGHTENED AND STEERING EFFORT RETURNED TO NORMAL.THIS OCCURRED ON A SMOOTH, 4-LANE ROAD WHICH WAS DRY. JAGUAR SERVICE PERSONNEL WERE AWARE OF SIMILAR ISSUES BUT COLD NOT IDENTIFY A CAUSE.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2016 JAGUAR F-TYPE. THE CONTACT OBSERVED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS LEAKING OIL WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VIN AND FAILURE MILEAGE WERE UNKNOWN.
THE FLYWHEEL MALFUNCTIONED ON MY JAGUAR F-TYPE BUT JAGUAR, EVEN THOUGH THEY UPDATED THE PART NUMBERS FOR THE FLYWHEEL AND CLUTCH, AND DESPITE THE FACT THAT ANY MALFUNCTION WITH THE FLYWHEEL IS GOING TO COMPROMISE THE CLUTCH ASSEMBLY AS THEY ARE CONNECTED MECHANICALLY, ARE REFUSING TO CHANGE THE CLUTCH AND ONLY THE FLYWHEEL. THE CLUTCH/FLYWHEEL FAILED CATASTROPHICALLY. THE CAR BECAME HARDER AND HARDER TO SHIFT AND THEN WOULDN'T GO INTO GEAR AT ALL. I STOPPED TURNED THE ENGINE OFF. THE CAR WOULD NOT RESTART OR GO INTO GEAR WITHOUT GREAT FORCE AND THEN REQUIRED AS MUCH FORCE TO TAKE IT OUT OF GEAR.
