THE HYDRAULIC STRUTS THAT HOLD OPEN THE TRUNK LID ON MY 2001 CHRYSLER CONCORDE LXI HAVE FAILED RESULTING IN A PAINFUL BUMP ON THE HEAD FOR YOURS TRULY. I FEAR FOR THE SAFETY OF ANYONE WHO USES THE TRUNK FOR ANY PURPOSE, ESPECIALLY FAMILY MEMBERS. IT SEEMS TO STAY OPEN OK DURING WARM WEATHER. *JB

THE TRUNK LID HYDRAULIC SUPPORT DEVICES ARE FAILING TO HOLD THE LID OPEN ALLOWING IT TO FALL WITHOUT WARNING. THIS STARTED HAPPENING IN THE PAST SIX MONTHS AND HAS RESULTED IN MINOR INJURIES TO BOTH ME AND MY WIFE (BUMPS AND BRUISES). I PURCHASED THE CAR NEW IN 2001 AND IT ONLY HAS 36,000 MILES. THE CAR HAS ALWAYS BEEN KEPT IN AN ENCLOSED GARAGE AND HAS NEVER RECEIVED ANY DAMAGE. I FEAR A MORE SEVERE INJURY WILL RESULT IF THIS PROBLEM CONTINUES. *NM

THIS CRASH RESULTED IN NO AIRBAG DEPLOYMENT EVEN WITH $7000 DAMAGE IN THE FRONT END OF VEHICLE..THE IMPACT WAS SQUARE CENTER OF THE CAR AND I WAS TOLD BY THE ADJUSTER AND BODY SHOP THAT THE BAGS SHOULD HAVE DEPLOYED..I ALSO BELIEVE THE AIR BAGS SHOULD HAVE DEPLOYED..THIS WAS REPORTED TO THE MANUFACTURER AND THEY DID COME AND CHECK THE CAR AND SENT US A LETTER , TELLING ME THAT EVERYTHING WAS OK WITH THE AIR BAG SYSTEM..I DO HAVE EXCESS TO PICTURES OF THE FRONT END FROM THE BODY SHOP AND ADJUSTER
