AFTER HE LEFT, I NOTICED ODD MARKS LEFT IN THE DIRT IN MY DRIVEWAY. THE DRIVER SIDE TIRE, LEFT LARGER AND HEAVIER IMPRINT THEN THE PASSENGER SIDE. AS I WAS READING THE INFORMATION I WAS AMAZED, THEN READING FURTHER I NOTICED THEY EXPLAIN THE PROBLEMS AND WHAT HAPPENS. GRANTED THE CAR HAS 135,000 MILES ON IT, IF THE ORIGINAL OWNER HAD A PROBLEM AND HAD IT FIXED OR BAND AIDED ADD ANOTHER 65,000 MILES TO A PROBLEM THAT ALREADY EXISTS, IT WOULD BE TIME TO FIX AGAIN. TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 1993 CHRYSLER CONCORDE. THE VEHICLE HAS COOPER LIFELINER TOURING SLE, SIZE 205/70R15 TIRES. NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER 06T016000 (TIRES:TREAD/BELT) WAS REFERENCED. WHILE DRIVING 10-60 MPH, THE STEERING WHEEL BEGAN SHAKING AND VIBRATING. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO A MECHANIC AND WAS INFORMED THAT THE STEEL BELT AND TIRES SHIFTED. COOPER TIRES STATED THAT THE TIRES WERE OLD AND THAT NO RECALL WAS AVAILABLE. THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE TIRE WAS REPLACED. THE PURCHASE DATE, POWERTRAIN, AND DEALER INFORMATION WERE UNKNOWN. THE RECALL WAS DONE ONCE AND I KNOW THAT THE O-RINGS ARE REPLACED AS PART OF THIS RECALL SO I TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY WON'T FIX THIS AND I DON'T UNDERSTAND WHY AND THEY CHARGED ME $102 LABOR BECAUSE THEY SAID IT DOESN'T FALL UNDER THE RECALL. AS I UNDERSTAND THIS THE O-RINGS WERE REPLACED AND NOW THERE WORK HAS FAILED AND THEY WON'T STAND BEHIND IT. *NM

DT*: THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS DIFFICULT TO START, AND THERE WAS A STRONG SMELL OF GASOLINE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A PRIVATE MECHANIC SHOP, WHERE IT WAS DETERMINED THAT THERE WAS A CRACK IN THE FUEL INJECTION SYSTEM. THE UPPER PLENUM AND ALL THE O RINGS WERE REPLACED.

MY DAUGHTER WHO IS A NEW DRIVER WAS DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY WHEN THE CAR BEGAN TO ACCELERATE TO AROUND 90-95 MPH, SHE HIT THE BRAKES AND BEGAN TO LOSS CONTROL OF THE CAR , IT WAS RAINING AND THE ROADS WERE WET. WHILE TRYING TO AVOID HITTING ANOTHER CAR SHE BEGAN TO SLIDE ACROSS THE HIGHWAY AND HIT THE CENTER BARRIER WALL . SHE HAS A LOT OF BRUISING AND SCRAPES LUCKILY NOTHING MAJOR. THE CAR WAS TOTALED. *JB

THEN ,CONSUMER REALIZED THAT THE ODOMETER WAS GOING BACKWARDS. WENT BACK TO THE DEALER, AND THEY TOLD CONSUMER THAT THE DMV TOLD THEM THAT AFTER 10 YEARS THE MILES ON A VEHICLE DID NOT MATTER. ALSO, THEY TOLD THE CONSUMER THAT THE BEST THEY COULD DO WAS PUT IN A NEW ODOMETER, AND SIMPLY SET IT FOR THE AMOUNT OF MILES THAT THEY HAD TOLD THE CONSUMER WAS THERE IN THE FIRST PLACE.*AK

THE RECALL INFORMATION WAS FOUND THROUGH A CHRYSLER WEBSITE, AND CONSUMER PUT IN THE LAST EIGHT DIGITS OF THE VIN AND THEY WERE INCLUDED IN THE RECALL. THE CONSUMER'S SON CONTACTED CHRYSLER THIRTY TIMES , AND THEY ADVISED THE CONSUMER TO TAKE THE CAR TO A DEALER FOR REPAIRS. THE DEALER CONFIRMED THERE WAS FUEL RAIL LEAK, AND A NEW FUEL RAIL WOULD HAVE TO BE INSTALLED, ALONG WITH OTHER WIRING THAT WAS MELTED AS A RESULT. THE CONSUMER'S SON HAD AN ISSUE WITH THE CHRYSLER DEALERSHIP, AND WISHED TO TAKE VEHICLE AWAY FROM CHRYSLER DEALERSHIP BECAUSE HE FELT THEY WERE DOING NOTHING ABOUT THE PROBLEM. I WAS PULLING OUT OF MY PARKING SPOT, I HAD TO TURN THE STEERING WHEEL ALMOST ALL THE WAY TO THE RITE TO GET OUT. WHEN MY FRONT TIRES CAME OFF THE DRIVE WAY( OR CURB) I HEARD A SNAP. MY TIRES WOULDNT MOVE AFTER THAT. THE STEERIING WHEEL WOULD MOVE BUT MY TIRES WOULDNT. I HAD TO PAY $150 TO HAVE IT TOWED TO A AN AUTO SHOP ($50), HAVE THEM LOOK AT IT AND TELL ME WHAT HAD HAPPENED($70), AND HAVE IT TOWED BACK($50). THE AUTO SHOP TOLD ME THAT TWO BOLTS THAT HOLD THE TIE RODS TO THE RACK AND PINION HAD SNAPED IN HALF. THEY WANTED $820 TO FIX IT. I HAD THEM TOW IT BACK TO MY PARKING SPOT. I TOOK THE RACK AND PINION OUT MYSELF AND GOT THE BOLTS OUT. I AM STILL IN THE PROCESS OF FIXING THIS PROBLEM. MY WIFE HAD LOOKED ONLINE TO SEE IF THIS PROBLEM HAD HAPPENED TO ANYONE ELSE. DEALER HAD FIXED RECALL C45 - FLOOR SHIFTER IGNITION/PARK INTERLOCK ON 93 CHRYSLER CONCORDE. PICKED UP CAR FROM DEALER AND RETURNING HOME AT 40 MPH (RT 124 MD) WHEN SUDDENLY THE ENGINE HOOD POPS OPEN AND SLAMS AGAINST THE FRONT WIND SHIELD WITH A LOUD BANG. WINDSHIELD NOT DAMAGED. SOMEHOW MANAGED TO PULL THE HOOD AWAY FROM THE WINDSHIELD TO BE ABLE TO DRIVE HOME. HOOD DISTORTED AND CRUMPLED. HOOD SHOCKS AND HINGES RIPPED. HOOD SUDDENLY OPENING WAS PROBABLY CAUSED BY DEFECTIVE HOOD LOCK. *AK

1. NO GRADUAL SIGNS. ONE DAY, FRONT END VERY UNSTABLE, SHAKING AND WOBBLING - AS IF FRONT END NOT ALIGNED OR BAD TIRES / INFLATION. STEERING THE VEHICLE WAS A CHALLENGE & FELT VERY UNSAFE. SAME DAY, I TOOK VEHICLE TO TIRE STORE TO HAVE LOOKED AT, TIRES CHECKED / ROTATED IF NEEDED. REPLACED ONE REAR TIRE THAT WAS SOON TO BE NEEDED AND CHECKED INFLATION ON OTHERS, ETC. 5:30PM, I WAS SENT ON MY WAY. CAR DROVE BETTER IT SEEMED - FOR APPROX. 4 MILES. 2. 5:45PM - AT RED STOP LIGHT, WHILE WAITING FOR LIGHT TO CHANGE EVERYTHING SEEMED FINE WITH VEHICLE. ONCE LIGHT TURNED GREEN, I WAS 2ND CAR IN LINE TO PROCEED... WHEN I TRIED TO ACCELERATE FORWARD, VEHICLE WOULD NOT GO. I THOUGHT MAY HAVE STALLED - NO. IT WOULD JUST NOT GO. I GOT OUT OF VEHICLE WHILE TRYING TO DIRECT TRAFFIC AROUND ME... LOOKED AT FRONT OF CAR, NOTHING. BENT DOWN TO LOOK AT TIRES & BOTH FRONT TIRES WERE FACING (TURNED) INWARD - TOWARDS ONE ANOTHER. ON 09/11/03 I PURCHASED A USED 1993 CHRYSLER CONCORDE. ABOUT A MONTH LATER THE LOW FUEL GAUGE AND AIRBAG LIGHTS STARTED COMING ON, ND MY TANK IS AT LEAST HALF FULL ALL THE TIME. THE PROBLEM IS THAT I NEVER KNOW WHEN THE LIGHTS WILL COME ON AND WHEN THEY DO, IT CAUSES THE VEHICLE TO SOMETIMES STALL AND JERK VIOLENTLY AS IF I'VE BEEN HIT FROM THE REAR AND GAS FUMES ARE SO STRONG THAT I HAVE TO DRIVE WITH THE WINDOWS DOWN. I TOOK THE CAR BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP AND SPOKE WITH PRIVATE MECHANICS AND EXPLAINED IT TO THEM BUT NOONE COULD FIND ANY PROBLEM. I RECENTLY FOUND A WEBSITE LISTING PERSONS WITH SOME OF THE SAME PROBLEMS I'VE EXPERIENCED WITH THIS VEHICLE AND FIND IT AMAZING THAT WE HAVEN'T ALL BECOME A FATALITY BECAUSE OF THE MANY PROBLEMS WITH IT.
