Vehicle was making a very loud humming noise at 73 mph. After returning to the dealership they found that the bearings in the rear end house had destroyed themselves causing internal damage to the housing and the entire rear end now needs to be replaced.
This vehicle was purchased with 10,000 miles from a Chevrolet dealer. At 13,000 miles the transmission started making an awful noise. Up a service check it was found that the transmission pump was failing.
NHTSA Vehicle Safety Complaint I am reporting a serious transmission defect in my 2024 Chevrolet Silverado 3500HD LT that creates a high risk of sudden power loss, erratic shifting, or loss of control while driving. Vehicle Details: - Make/Model/Year: Chevrolet Silverado 3500HD LT, 2024 - VIN: 2GC4YTEYXR1263768 - Engine: 6.6L Duramax diesel - Transmission: 10-speed Allison (10L1000) - Mileage at diagnosis: ~46,000 miles - Title: Rebuilt (warranty denied due to branding) Defect Description: The transmission shifts normally when cold (fluid below ~138°F). Once warm (during normal driving), it fails to upshift properly in gears 5-8: holds lower gears, causes high RPMs (3,000+), delays shifts excessively, or refuses to shift. When shifts occur, they are hard and jerky. Automatic (Drive) mode is affected; manual/L mode works normally as a workaround. No warning lights appeared initially, but the issue has worsened and is now frequent at operating temperature. Diagnosis: On January 28,
Email Subject I am reporting a serious safety-related defect involving sudden and complete vehicle shutdown while driving in a 2024 Chevrolet Silverado EV RST. Component/System Involved: The failure appears related to the 12-volt electrical system and associated vehicle control electronics. When the vehicle detects the 12V battery as dead or critically low, it immediately disables propulsion and control systems. The exact failed component is UNKNOWN. The vehicle is available for inspection upon request. Incident Description: This failure has occurred twice under similar conditions (ambient temperature approximately 25°F). On November 28, 2024 and again on January 2, 2026, after driving approximately two blocks at low residential speeds, the vehicle abruptly and completely shut down while in motion. In both incidents, the shutdown was immediate, without warning, and accompanied by a loud thud and an extremely abrupt stop. Safety Risk: In both incidents, the vehicle became completel

When pulling my trailer with my 2024 chevy 3500, I get the following alert displayed on my screen periodically: Trailer Brakes Disabled Service Required. The trailer brakes stop working on my 16000lb trailer and I need to pull off the road and shut off the truck, and then restart it to get my brakes working again. The dealer replaced the brake controller in the truck, but I still get the message. I towed this trailer across country 2 times in my 2020 chevy without a problem. I have hydrastar brakes on my 2022 keystone Montana. GM said it's a problem with the trailer. Hydrastar said they have had numerous reports from 2024 GM truck owners. I am bringing it back to the GM dealer Monday for an oil change but I was informed they have no further information to guide them Please assist.

I was driving on the interstate at around 65mph. Towing my fifth wheel. Transmission started shifting hard with a loud bang that sounded like we hit a huge pothole. A message popped up in the screen indicating âReduced acceleration, drive with cautionâ. The transmission seems to be stuck in gear as we exited the highway. Check engine light was on. Came to a stop at a stop sign and barely had enough power to pull into a parking lot. We had the truck towed to a nearby dealership. Fault codes P0700 and P0747 were present. Service advisor said valve body would have to be rebuilt. Itâs been 2 weeks and the valve body cover plate is still âbackorderedâ with no estimated in stock date.
The contact owns a 2024 Chevrolet Silverado 3500. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the vehicle hesitated, and the transmission failed to properly shift. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer, who discovered metal shavings inside the fuel filter and diagnosed that the High-Pressure Fuel Pump was faulty and needed to be replaced. The high-pressure fuel pump was replaced, and the vehicle was repaired. Later, while hauling a trailer on the highway, the vehicle unexpectedly stalled. The vehicle was towed to the dealer, who diagnosed that the fuel pump control module had failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, but no assistance was offered. The failure mileage was 19,000.

I keep getting a chunking noise coming from the rear of vehicle. Twice I have taking in to the dealer and I was told this condition may be caused by movement between the anchor plate and axle assembly. They have re-torqueing the joints of the leaf springs assembly. it coming loose. It has happened after 4,000 miles. This tells me that it can come loose while I am driving! GM has a service document ID: 5501065. It has been happening since 2020!

When driving my truck and towing a trailer which has elec. over hyd. brakes and trying to stop. My truck will disable my brakes on my trailer, which may weigh 3+ times the weight of my truck. GM had a recall on the truck brake module which fixed my problem. Then l took my truck back for an oil change a few months later and they said that there is a open recall on the brake module (NEWER UPDATE) which once again caused my brake issues again with the newer recall. l have opened up a complaint with GM and they say take it to a GM dealer. The dealer checks the truck out and says there is no problem with the truck. They tell me that l need to install a module on my trailer ,which l did early on with the problem. l did own a 2017 chevy and pulled that trailer with NO issues. The trailer dealer hooked the trailer to a 2018 GMC and a 2016 Dodge pick-up. And had NO problem with the trailer brakes and put a NYS inspection sticker on my trailer LAST MONTH. We !! the trailer dealer and myself h

The brakes on this vehicle are very spongy, they have to be pushed all the way to the floor to get the vehicle to stop. When pulling a trailer you are on pins and needles wondering if you can get the truck to stop. The trailer brakes are doing most of the stopping. I have owned many trucks and the brakes on this 2024 Chevy Silverado 3500 are the worst that I have ever experienced. This is a Safety hazard with serious implications. I have talked to many other people with the same truck and they also claim that the brake system is faulty and/or sub standard. I have taken my truck back to the dealer and they claim that the brakes are working normal (test driving around their service lot). This is a serious problem that needs to be investigated by your orginazation. Thank you in advance for any insight on this serious brake issue.
