GM replaced engine after a complete failure associated with a defective engine recall. The remanufactured or new engine installed seems to have a similar defect as the original engine. Returned vehicle for service and was told GM refused to repair or replace the engine until the vehicle suffered another complete engine failure. Regardless of any safety concerns of an another complete engine failure.
At just over 36,000 miles, the vehicle randomly started jerking to either side of the road. It's not continuous and happens at random intervals while driving. Sometimes the steering wheel would jerk with the movement of the tires, other times, it felt as if the steering wheel had disengaged for a moment. The first time it happened, we were traveling on a highway at 55mph and were jerked towards oncoming traffic. I immediately stopped the vehicle and turned around to head back home at a safer rate of speed. The steering issue continued numerous times until my arrival at home. This issue just happened today, so it has not been inspected by anyone yet. There were no warning lamps, messages, or other indications.
The dealership has informed me that the Radio Control Module of the vehicle needs to be replaced. The infotainment center which contains the backup camera is no longer functioning.

Transmission failed at 15000 miles. Attempted to shift to reverse and instead car went into neutral. Allowed me to shift into forward but quickly went into âlimp modeâ once underway. Seems like the same issue as many similar gm trucks have had with transmissions but my 2024 is not included in active recalls when searched by VIN. Suspect it probably should be since issue appears to be the same as those that are.
Was driving 45 mph when a â Conditions Not Correct for Shiftâ warning pops up on the screen and puts me into neutral, but came to a stop in a neighborhood entrance and have not been able to start or put the vehicle into gear

My engine shutoff while I was driving on the highway. I had the initial recall remedy performed on my 6.2L 2024 silverado truck by getting the thicker oil about 8 month's ago. Now my truck is in the shop I'm suppose to be getting a replacement engine. I'm not sure if I can trust the replacement engine im getting.
2024 Chvrolet 3.0 Diesel is losing oil at 3k miles on every oil change. DTC P06DD , dealership did an oil consumption test, they have determined there is signifcant oil loss after every oil change after 3k miles. Truck is at 71k miles. Engine power loss while driving, check engine light on, drove straight to the dealership.
After engine blows due to recall and engine not running, it is impossible to shift the electronic transmission into neutral mode for towing. This happened to me in November of 2025 and I was recently told that I should report the issue. Neither the tow truck operator nor myself were able to get the vehicle into neutral without the engine running. I could have easily been stuck in the middle of traffic and no one would be able to help me move to a safe location. Some way of easily getting the vehicle into neutral without the engine running needs to be added to all Silveradoâs with electronic transmissions.
In May 2025, we received notice that my truck was involved in GM Safety Recall N252494000. In July 2025, a fuel consumption test was performed because the vehicle showed low oil pressure and was 2-1/2 quarts low. Chevolet indicated "consuming oil" was normal; however, I have owned trucks for 25 years and have never "consumed oil". In October 2025, we received notice that we could finally schedule the engine inspection at a Chevrolet Dealer of our choice. We scheduled this appointment for Monday, November 17th, 2025. The Picoscope Inspection was performed and the engine passed. They installed new higher viscosity oil, new oil fill cap and insert; but they note that the vehicle had no oil on the dipstick and would like to have another consumption test performed in 2000 miles. The next day, Tuesday, November 18th, 2025, the engine failed. The initial diagnosis was a continuous misfire of cylinder #3 requiring a Valve Lifter Replacement on Left Side. Upon completion of this work, they iden
Vehicle died and would not move forward or in reverse. The engine locked up and had to be replaced. Recall to test engine and replace with thicker oil was performed 6000 miles previous to engine failure.
The cam crankshaft failed. I was driving on the highway at a speed between 65-75 and my truck just cut off without any warning. Luckily, I was in far right lane and coasted over to the side of the road but it was very scary because I didn't control my truck at all. I called the nearest Chevrolet Dealership that was Kevin Whitaker and they give me the Chevrolet help contact phone and they sent a tow truck to pickup my truck about 1 hr later and I was stuck in my truck on the side of the road and I couldn't get out on the drive side because how close it was to oncoming traffic. Once I arrived at the dealership with my truck after asking the tow driver could I ride with him to the dealership. At the dealership they checked the truck with computerized device and the service advisor told me the truck code revealed cam shaft problems. I told him that I did see and warning sign saying low oil pressure once I tired to start up the truck again on the side of the road.

I have a 2024 Silverado with the L87 (6.2) engine. I brought in in for recall. After inspection the Chevrolet Service Center said it was good. They changed the oils to 0-W40 per the recall. On January 8, 2026 I was driving at 35 mph and the engine just stopped. I had it towed back to the Chevrolet Service Center and after diagnosis it was determined that the engine failed and has to be replaced which take a month or more.
Engine burning massive amounts of oil, noticeable tick in engine, dealer request I bring it back every 500 miles for a total of 2000 miles to assess wether or not thereâs a fault, when I requested for them to keep it diagnose it in their own way without forcing me to continuously have to return to the dealer (4 different times) for a conclusion
5449 miles. Motor had a knock. Took to dealership and they replaced valve lifters
Vehicle simply died in the middle of an intersection and blocked the roadway for an extended period of time before being towed back to dealer. Engine failure confirmed, replacement has been ordered
