Driving in Tucumcari New Mexico coming up on a green light that turned from green to yellow to red. I pressed the brake pedal instead of the brakes doing their job in slowing down to come to a stop. I was driving into a parking doing less than 10 mph trying to angle park my truck. Suddenly my truck accelerated violently hitting another vehicle in the parking lot in the right rear and turning it around. Was hitting the brakes to no avail. Truck continued to accelerate and I aimed for a sign support pole while depressing the brakes as hard as I could. Truck hit the pole and the air bag deployed. Front of my truck was caved in and the truck was ruled unrepairable by my insurance company.

Rear window defroster overheated/caught on fire. It will be available for inspection unless GM rectifies the issue and removes the components in question. Cabin filled with smoke and a small fire broke out immediately behind the rear headrest/seatbelt location. Rear window section shattered, most of the glass is intact but some pieces were ejected. I was merging on to the expressway and my truck kept going to the left into traffic towards a concrete median. I turned my wheel to the right to try to avoid it and started to spin out and went back to the right side of the expressway which was four lanes wide and slammed into the guardrail. After the wreck I noticed my ABS light was on I’m not sure if it came on as I was merging onto the expressway.

The 6L80 is known for there bad parts and going out. The transmissions are braking down on accout of poor craftsmanship and cheap parts. Plus my truck is shutting off and back on while driving which caused me to rear-end another truck and not one air bag deployed and it pushed the other trucks bumper all the way under his tail gate and my front bumper has enough damage that the airbags should've went off
