VEHICLE DESCRIPTION: CERTAIN PASSENGER VEHICLES FAIL TO COMPLY WITH THE REQUIREMENTS OF FMVSS NO. 110, "TIRE SELECTION AND RIMS." THESE VEHICLES HAVE AN INCORRECT TIRE PRESSURE LABEL. ON VEHICLES EQUIPPED WITH P235/55R17 TIRES, THE TIRE PRESSURE LABEL INCORRECTLY SPECIFIES P235/60ZR16 TIRES.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE SITTING IN THE FRONT DRIVER SIDE SEAT WITH THE VEHICLE OFF AND KEY OUT OF THE IGNITION, THE SIDE AIR BAG DEPLOYED WITHOUT AN IMPACT. THERE WAS A LOUD BOOM AND A GRAY SUBSTANCE EMITTED FROM THE AIR BAGS. THE FOLLOWING MORNING, THE SEAT BELT ANCHOR FRACTURED. THE DRIVER SUSTAINED A LOSS OF HEARING IN THE LEFT EAR, 3 NECK FRACTURES, ABRASIONS ON THE ARMS AND LEGS THAT REQUIRED MEDICAL ATTENTION. A MEDICAL INCIDENT REPORT WA
