CUSTOMER WAS DRIVING VEHICLE DOWN ROAD, ALL OF A SUDDEN COMING UP TO A STOPLIGHT CAR SUDDENLY DIED, AT THE SAME TIME WHITE SMOKE CAME BILLOWING OUT THE BACK OF THE CAR, IT CAUSED A TRAFFIC HAZARD IN WHICH NOBODY COULD SEE HER CAR, SHE WAS REARENDED, AS WELL AS THE GUY THAT REARENDED HER. THE OCCUPANT OF THE VEHICLE THAT REARENDED HER ENDED UP GETTING HIS NOSE BROKEN WHEN HE HIT HIS STEERING WHEEL. ONE NIGHT MY FAMILY AND I WERE DRIVING MY 1998 CADILLAC DEVILLE, AND ALL OF A SUDDEN THE HEATER COIL BURST WITHOUT WARNING, THE HEATER WAS NOT ON AND THE CAR WAS NOT RUNNING HOT. THE CAR FILLED WITH STEAM MAKING IT IMPOSSIBLE TO SEE ANYTHING, AND HOT SCALDING WATER AND ANTI-FREEZE POURED OUT FROM UNDER THE DASH BOARD RIGHT OVER THE GAS PEDDLE AND SCALDED MY RIGHT FOOT CAUSING SERIOUS BURNS AND LEAVING HORRIBLE SCARS. TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 1998 CADILLAC DEVILLE. IN SEPTEMBER OF 2003, THE AIR BAGS DEPLOYED WITHOUT AN IMPACT WHILE DRIVING 35 MPH. THERE WERE OCCUPANTS IN THE VEHICLE AT THE TIME OF THE FAILURE. GM REPAIRED THE VEHICLE; HOWEVER, THE AIR BAGS CONTINUED TO DEPLOY FOR NO APPARENT REASON. THERE WAS ONE INJURY. THE PURCHASE DATE WAS UNKNOWN. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 177,040 AND FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 73,000.

DT: THE CONTACT STATED ON 10-17-05 WAS DRIVING WHEN SHE HEARD A NOISE THAT SOUNDED LIKE A SOMETHING SCRAPED THE BOTTOM OF THE CAR. IMMEDIATELY THE DRIVER'S SIDE AND PASSENGER'S SIDE AIR BAGS DEPLOYED. THERE WERE TWO PEOPLE IN THE FRONT SEAT OF THE CAR. NO ONE WAS SERIOUSLY INJURED. THE DEALER SAID THERE HAD BEEN A PROBLEM IN THE PAST, BUT NOT THE FRONT. HE ALSO, SAID THE SENSORS WERE PROBABLY BAD. SHE DID NOT RECALL AN AIR BAG LIGHT ILLUMINATING IN THE CAR PRIOR TO THIS INCIDENT.

SHE JUMPED INTO IT TO STOP VEHICLE AND SHE TURNED THE WHEEL AND IT SEEMED TO SPIN OUT. SHE THREW IT INTO PARK TO GET IT TO STOP. CALLER SAID IT SEEMED TO ACCELERATE WHEN SHE HIT THE BRAKES, AND WHEN SHE THREW IT INTO PARK. CALL

DT: WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD THERE WAS AN OIL LEAK AND VEHICLE LOST ABOUT 7 QUARTS OF OIL. THIS GOT ALL OVER THE MOTOR, MUFFLER, AND THE ROAD. THERE WAS A STRONG BURNING SMELL, BUT DID NOT CATCH ON FIRE. MECHANIC TOLD CONSUMER THAT WAS THE OIL PRESSURE SENSOR. HAS NOT YET BEEN REPAIRED, BUT THE WHOLE ENGINE WILL NEED REPLACEMENT. THE CONSUMER WAS ON THE DRIVEWAY OF PERSONAL RESIDENCE WITH ALL SEAT BELTS SECURED WHEN BOTH THE DRIVER/PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAGS DEPLOYED. THERE WAS A LOUD EXPLOSION. THE ENGINE SHUT DOWN, THERE WERE NO POWER FEATURES WORKING, AND THE HORN WAS BLOWING CONTINUOUSLY. THE DASHBOARD WAS BLOWN UP FROM THE FORCE OF THE AIRBAGS AND THE FRONT WINDSHIELD WAS SEVERELY SMASHED FROM THE FORCE OF THE DASHBOARD. BRAKE LINE RUPTURED DUE TO IT CHAFING AGAINST THE FRAME, THIS CAUSED VEHICLE TO CRASH INTO ANOTHER VEHICLE, AN INDEPENDENT INSPECTOR VERIFIED THAT THE STEEL BRAIDED BRAKE LINES WERE RUBBING ON THE FRAME AND WORE THROUGH CAUSING BREAKE FLUID LOSS, THERE WERE NO INJURIES IN ACCIDENT. *SLC
