TL*THE CONTACT OWNS 1996 CADILLAC DEVILLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE ANTI FREEZE CAME OVER THE FIREWALL AND CAUSED SECOND DEGREE BURNS TO HIS FEET. THE CONTACT WAS TRAVELING 55 MPH WHEN THIS OCCURRED. THE MECHANIC STATED THAT THE HEATER CORE FAILED ON THE VEHICLE AND ALLOWED THE ANTI FREEZE TO LEAK INTO THE VEHICLE. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE AT THE TIME OF THE COMPLAINT. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 160000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 167000.

TL*- THE CONTACT HEARD A LOUD POP COME FROM UNDER THE HOOD OF THE 1996 CADILLAC DEVILLE AND ALSO NOTICED SMOKE COMING FROM UNDER THE HOOD. THE CONTACT TURNED THE VEHICLE OFF, AND THEN NOTICED THERE FLAMES WERE COMING FROM UNDER THE HOOD . THE FIRE DEPARTMENT ADVISED THE CONTACT THAT CAUSE OF THE FIRE WAS A PROBLEM WITH THE FUEL. THE VEHICLE CURRENTLY HAD 115000 MILES. THE CONTACT STATED THERE WAS A RECALL 04014 FOR THE FUEL SYSTEM .

THE DAY BEFORE INCIDENT, THE CONSUMER RECEIVED A NHTSA RECALL LETTER # 04V110000: SOME PASSENGER VEHICLES EQUIPPED WITH 4.0L V8 ENGINES HAVE A CONDITION IN WHICH THE NYLON TUBING USED IN THE FUEL RAIL CONSTRUCTION MAY DEGRADE AND CRACK. ADDITIONALLY, THE 1995 MODEL YEAR USES A UNIQUE UNDERHOOD FUEL RETURN LINE THAT MAY CRACK. CRACKING OF THE FUEL RAIL OR RETURN LINE

BOTH DRIVER'S SIDE AND PASSENGER SIDE AIR BAGS DEPLOYED. CONSUMER MADE IT TO SHOULDER. CONSUMER STATED THAT PASSENGER'S SIDE WINDOW BROKE, AND THAT PASSENGER AND DRIVER SUSTAINED CUTS AND BURNS. CONSUMER HAS CONTACTED DEALER. *AK CONS
WIRING SYSTEM FAILED, RESULTING IN A SHORT CIRCUIT WHICH IGNITED A FIRE. CONTACTED DEALER, AND DEALER WAS NOT WILLING TO DO ANYTHING.*AK
CONSUMER WAS DRIVING AT APPROXIMATELY 35-37 MPH WHEN ANOTHER VEHICLE TURNED LEFT IN FRONT OF CONSUMER ,HITTING IT HEAD-ON, AND CAUSING CONSUMER TO FLY FOWARD AND HIT HEAD AGAINST THE ROOF NEAR THE SUNVISOR. ON HIS WAY DOWN BACK INTO THE SEAT, DUAL AIRBAGS DEPLOYE, BUT IT DID NOT INFLATE, CAUSING A LOSS OF PROTECTION AND INJURIES. *AK

WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE STREET AND MAKING A TURN, ANOTHER VEHICLE, TOYOTA PICKUP TRUCK BEHIND, PLOWED INTO CONSUMER'S VEHICLE. UPON IMPACT, AIRBAGS ON BOTH SIDES DIDN'T DEPLOY. ALSO, DRIVER'S SEATBACK COLLASPED. CONTACTED THE DEALER AND MANUFACTURER. *AK
VEHICLE'S FRONT END HIT ANOTHER VEHICLE AT ABOUT 30MPH, AND BOTH AIRBAGS DEPLOYED, INJURING THE DRIVER. *AK
THE AIRBAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY IN A HEAD-ON COLLISION IN THE CAR EVEN THOUGH THEY DEPLOYED IN THE OTHER CAR THAT WAS INVOLVED IN THE ACCIDENT. THE CADILLAC HAD EXTENSIVE DAMAGE TO THE LEFT FRONT END TO THE EXTENT THAT THE UNIBODY ON THAT SIDE WAS CRUMPLED, A LARGE PART OF THE FRONT WILL BE REPLACED AND THE WINDSHIELD WAS BROKEN. IF THE SEAT BELTS HAD NOT WORKED EXTREMELY WELL, HOLDING BOTH FRONT SEAT PASSENGERS AGAINST THE SEAT, THERE WOULD HAVE BEEN SEVERE INJURIES.
VEHICLE WAS INVOLVED IN A FRONTAL COLLISION AND THEN ROLLED OVER, AND THE AIRBAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. THE DEALER HAS BEEN NOTIFIED. OWNERS WILL NOTIFY THE MANUFACTURER. *AK
