AT THE END OF SHORT 20 MILE TRIP AS I WAS PULLING INTO THE DRIVEWAY, I NOTICED SMOKE & FLAMES COMING OUT OF HOOD / ENGINE. THE ACTION OF DRIVING, PARKING AND FIRE WAS SIMULTANEOUS. I CAN NOT SAY FOR CERTAIN THE ORDER IN WHICH THE THREE EVENTS HAPPENED. THE ENGINE WAS ON FIRE. I LEFT THE CAR IN PARK AT THE END OF DRIVEWAY WENT INSIDE THE HOME AND HAD MY SON CALLED THE POLICE AND FIRE ( 911 ). BY THIS TIME THERE WAS THICK SMOKE AND FLAMES COMING OUT OF CAR. THE IGNITION WAS TURNED OFF AND THE WINDOW LOCK SWITCH FAILED, CONSUMERS GRANDCHILD WAS STICKING HER HEAD OUT THE WINDOW WHEN ALL OF A SUDDEN THE CHILDS NECK AND HEAD WERE BEING SQUEEZED BETWEEN THE WINDOW AND FRAME, CHILD SUFFERED MINOR INJURIES.*YH
THE VEHICLE WAS DRIVEN FOUR MILES, THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED AT THE TIME IT CAUGHT FIRE. THE FIRE DEPARTMENT INDICATED THAT THE PROBLEM COULD HAVE BEEN COOLING FAN. DEALER CONTACTED. NLM PER INSPECTION, THEY FOUND THE HOT SPOT WAS ON THE LEFT HAND SIDE OF THE VEHICLE WHERE THE FENDER AND THE TIRE HAD BEEN CONSUMED BY THE FIRE. ALSO THE FIRE WAS SO HOT THAT IT FUSED THE HOOD TO THE RADIATOR AND THE FIREMEN HAD TO USE SPECIAL INSTRUMENTS TO COMPLETELY DOUSE THE FLAMES. SCC
CAR WAS AT COMPLETE STOP: ACCELERATOR PEDAL GOES TO FLOOR AND TAKES OFF ON ITS OWN.
CONSUMER WENT TO PUT WINDSHIELD WIPER FLUID. OPENED HOOD, AND PNEUMATIC HOOD SUPPORTS WHICH IS THIN, AND INADEQUATE FOR S UCH A HEAVY LOAD, FAILED TO HOLD, AND CAME CRASHING DOWN ONTO CONSUMER'S HAND. *AK
DRIVING AT APPROXIMATELY 45MPH CONSUMER REARENDED ANOTHER VEHICLE, DRIVER'S SIDE AIRBAG DID NOT DEPLOY WHICH COULD HAVE CAUSED INJURIES. DEALER CLAIMED THAT THE BUMPER WENT UNDERNEATH VEHICLE THAT WAS HIT. *AK *ML
PARKED VEHICLE, NOTICE SMOKE AND FLAME COMING FROM UNDER THE HOOD AREA. HOOD WOULD NOT UNLATCH, FIREMAN PUT HOLE IN TOP OF HOOD TO OUTEN THE FIRE. ADJUSTOR SAYS ELECTRICAL SYSTEM FIRE. JUST HAD THE OIL CHANGED AND REPLACE THE FILTER.
THE VEHICLE CAUGHT ON FIRE ON THE LEFT SIDE UNDER THE HOOD WHILE PARKED FOR LESS THAN A MINUTE AFTER A 10 MINUTE DRIVE. *AK
NO DEPLOYMENT OF AIR BAG IN ACCIDENT, RESULTING IN INJURY.
ANTI LOCK BRAKES FAILED CAUSING VEHICLE COLLISION.
WHEN THE BRAKES WERE APPLIED THE PEDAL WENT TO THE FLOOR , RESULTING IN EXTENDED STOPPING DISTANCE, CAUSING THE VEHICLE TO COLLIDE. THE DEALER AND THE MANUFACTURER HAD BEEN NOTIFIED. *AK
VEHICLE WAS INVOLVED IN A COLLISON WHEN ANOTHER VEHICLE BACKED INTO VEHICLE. AIRBAG DID NOT DEPLOY. *AK *SLC
