I RECENTLY PURCHASED A 2007 BMW F800ST MOTORCYCLE WITH ABS. ON TWO SEPARATE INSTANCES, ON DRY ROADS, THE ABS HAS "FAILED" IN THAT THE MOTORCYCLE FAILED TO RESPOND TO THE FRONT BRAKE. ON THE SECOND INSTANCE IT WAS GOING INTO A GAS STATION WHERE THE REAR SUSPENSION COMPRESSED AND REBOUNDED, EVIDENTLY TELLING THE ABS I WAS ON A SLICK SURFACE AND REDUCING BRAKE PRESSURE AVAILABLE TO THE FRONT BRAKE! THIS INFORMATION IS IN THE OWNERS' MANUAL, THAT COMPRESSION CAN LEAD THE SYSTEM TO BELIEVE IT IS ON A SLICK SURFACE. NO ACCIDENT YET, BUT THIS DOES NOT SEEM TO BE AN ISOLATED OCCURRENCE IF YOU VISIT F800RIDERS.ORG. I WAS SHOCKED TO SEE THIS IS WORLDWIDE. *TR
