TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 BMW 760LI. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE THE ELECTRONIC GEAR SHIFTER WAS PLACED IN DRIVE, THE GEAR INDEPENDENTLY SHIFTED INTO NEUTRAL. ADDITIONALLY, THE GEAR SLIPPED OUT OF PARK AND ERRONEOUSLY INTO REVERSE. THE FAILURE WAS EXPERIENCED SEVERAL TIMES. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHO INSPECTED THE VEHICLE AND ADVISED THE CONTACT THAT THE TRANSMISSION HAD TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 68,000.
