The 2023BMW760I carries 17 consumer safety complaints in NHTSA's Office of Defects Investigation database for this specific model-year cohort. Within that volume, owners reported 1 crash, 0 fires, 0 injuries, and 0 fatalities. No NCAP 5-star crash-test rating is available for this model year in the federal database.
Component-level analysis is where model-year complaints become actionable: the top complaint category for the 2023 760I is service brakes with 4 filings, followed by electronic stability control (esc) (4) and service brakes, hydraulic (4). Concentration in one or two component groups is the classic signature of a systemic defect; a flat distribution usually reflects normal aging, warranty complaints, or isolated build-plant variability. This model year has 8 active recall campaigns, which means the manufacturer is obligated to remedy the covered defect at no charge for the life of the vehicle — the full NHTSA campaign numbers are listed below.
NHTSA currently has 34 investigation files overlapping the 2023 760I. Owners comparing this cohort against neighboring years should pair the counters above with the complaint-by-year trend on the parent model page — a spike in a single year often tracks to a platform refresh, a new transmission supplier, or an updated ECU calibration. Use the related-complaint feed below to read raw owner narratives before deciding whether any pattern here affects your specific use case.

Twice this month while driving normally and at a moderate speed a message flashed on the monitor that the emergency braking system was engaged. The car slowed dramatically and suddenly. Without thinking I braked or pressed the accelerator. Luckily, the car returned to normal speed. When the braking system engaged unsecured objects were thrown around. If a car was behind me I could have easlily been rear ended.

Vehicle brakes gave out while driving and would not stop. System generated an email of the incident from manufacturer. Dealership informed that they have seen this before and its is a simple fix with a brake booster but no recalls are currently recalling the vehicle. The warning appeared as it happened.

My vehicle had a crash before receiving the recall on 28th august 2023 at 10.00am. The car swerved to the right and dashed on a parked car. There were no injuries. But the Cars right front was damaged. At first I could not understand what happened and because of the dash the airbags got deployed and I was dazed for moments. Later when the towing truck moved the car I saw the left front tire had burst. When I leased and brought the car within 15 days the same side tyre had burst but the road was clear and I could take care . I got a new car tyre fitted at my cost from the Seattle BMW dealership office. In the current accident before I could realize anything the car had dashed. The speed however was 25miles/hour. Later the insurance came in the picture and the car was sent to collision center NW Fife an authorized repair shop certified by BMW. The extent of damage as reported was considered as irreparable and the insurance company informed me that the car had to be scrapped. The iss

THERE IS NO PHYSICAL USER MANUAL IN THE VEHICLE AND WHEN THE DASH SCREENS TURN BLANK (HAPPENS REGULARLY), THE ONLINE VERSION IS NOT ACCESSIBLE IN THE VEHICLE. THE BMW APP ONLY WORKS WHERE THERE IS NETWORK COVERAGE SO THAT IS NOT A SOLUTION EITHER. THE DEALER CANNOT ORDER A USER MANUAL BECAUSE THE OEM, BMW, HAS NOT RELEASED IT. BMW CUSTOMER SERVICE ADVISES THAT THEY ONLY HAVE ONLINE VERSIONS. ISN'T THE PHYSICAL AVAILABILITY OF A USER MANUAL A REQUIREMENT ? WILLING TO PAY FOR IT, BUT THE OEM DOESN'T EVEN SELL ONE.
