THE VEHICLE WAS DRIVEN APPROXIMATELY 10 MINUTES TO THE GROCERY STORE, PARKED, WE SHOPPED, 30 MINUTES LATER, DROVE BACK HOME, AGAIN ABOUT 10 MINUTES. BACKED THE VEHICLE INTO MY DRIVEWAY AND SHUT THE VEHICLE OFF. GROCERIES WERE UNLOADED WHILE MY GIRLFRIEND WAS TRYING TO GET MY 18 MONTH DAUGHTER OUT OF THE CAR SEAT. SHE DID, CAME INSIDE AND APPROXIMATELY 2 MINUTES LATER A NEIGHBOR SLAMMED ON MY DOOR SAYING THAT THE VEHICLE WAS SMOKING FROM THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT. I WENT OUTSIDE, TRIED TO RELIEVE THE ISSUE WITH AN EXTINGUISHER, THIS DID NOT REMEDY THE SITUATION. THE SMOKE INCREASED, I WAS AFRAID TO POP THE HOOD DUE TO RISK OF OXYGEN EXPOSURE TO WHAT I ASSUMED WAS IN ACTIVE FIRE. 911 WAS CALLED, MINUTES LATER THE ENTIRE COMPARTMENT WAS FULLY ENGULFED WITH FLAMES. FIRE DEPARTMENT ARRIVED AND EXTINGUISHED THE FIRE.

IN THE DESPITE OF THE N63 CCP PERFORMED BY THE CAR THE DEFECTIVE INJECTORS WERE NOT CHANGED AS THEY SHOULD HAVE BEEN. THEY SHOULD HAVE BEEN REPLACED WITH INDEX 12 AND THEY ARE STILL INDEX 9. TODAY BMW DO NOT WANTS TO CHANGE THEM AND ASKING FOR $5000. I THINK IT SHOULD BE PART OF THE ORIGINAL N63CCP.

AS THE VEHICLE WAS DRIVEN, A SHIMMY IN THE FRONT END BECAME EVIDENT. BMW CLAIMED THE CHROMING PROCESS CAUSED THE PROBLEM AND THE FOUR WHEELS WERE BENT. THE CONSUMER STATED THERE WAS NOTHING IN THE CHROMING PROCESS THAT WOULD AFFECT THE METALLURGICAL INTEGRITY OF THE WHEELS, AND IT WAS THE CONSUMERS FEELING THAT IN THE HEAT TREATING PROCESS AT BMW THE PROCESS WAS DEFECTIVE. BMW CLAIMED THAT OUT OF THE 100,000 WHEELS THEY HAVE SOLD THERE HAD BEEN NO REPORTS OF SOFT WHEELS, BUT THE SUPPLER OF THE CHROME WHEELS SAID THAT WAS NOT TRUE AND THEY HAD PROBLEMS WITH 750 MODELS BEFORE. *JB
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 BMW 750I. THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED IN THE RESIDENCE GARAGE WHEN THE CONTACT SMELLED A STRONG FUEL ODOR OUTSIDE OF THE VEHICLE. THERE WAS AN EXCESSIVE AMOUNT OF FUEL LEAKAGE ON THE GROUND COMING FROM THE FUEL TANK. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER ON TWO SEPARATE OCCASIONS FOR THE IDENTICAL FAILURE. THE TECHNICIAN STATED THAT THE FAILURE WAS CONTRIBUTED TO LEAKAGE FROM THE FUEL LINE. THE CHARCOAL CANISTER AND PUMP WERE REPLACED FOR THE MALFUNCTION UNDER THE SERVICE WARRANTY.
