Complaint Description
The contact owns a 2014 BMW 328D. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the vehicle entered LIMP Mode with the message "Engine Malfunction" displayed on the instrument panel. The contact used a scanner and retrieved a DTC for the high-pressure fuel pump failure. Upon investigation, the contact discovered NHTSA Campaign Number: 21V586000 (Fuel System, Diesel); and associated the failure with the recall. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, and the contact was informed that the VIN was not included in the recall.
