The filer flagged the following severity indicators: crash: no, fire: no, injuries: 0, fatalities: 0. No crash, fire, or fatality was associated with this report, which places it in the early-warning stream rather than the priority-review stream. Because a VIN was supplied, this complaint is tied to a specific vehicle and not just a model-year cohort.

Individual complaints are consumer-submitted and unverified by NHTSA engineers — the agency's role at this stage is to collect, index, and make them searchable. What matters for federal action is the pattern: when many owners of the same CHEVROLET SILVERADO 1500 cohort independently describe similar engine and engine cooling failures, defect investigators have grounds to open a PE and request manufacturer data. Complaint Description

See attached document for complaint. When contacting my local dealership, Dick Hannah Chevrolet located in Sandy Oregon the Service Representative BXXXXX explained to me that they could not complete service in the form of inspection. BXXXXX recommended that I defer my request for a month. This is an example of Chevrolet, and the local dealership combining in a course of action meant to deceive their customers. While on the one hand they indicate an interest in activating the recall on the other hand they refuse to provide service. The customer, me, is left in no mans land with a serious recall condition unable to seek resolution. My request, investigate both the Company, Chevrolet, and the dealership and pursue resolution as the recall is intended.
