Open-data reference.

NHTSA Complaint about FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: AUTOMATIC EMERGENCY BRAKING filed May 15, 2025

NHTSA complaint #2092205 (ODI reference 11661099) concerns a 2015 JEEP WRANGLER and was filed on May 15, 2025. The owner reports the failure occurred on May 1, 2025. The report was geocoded to Florida based on the filer's self-reported location. The affected component is categorized as forward collision avoidance: automatic emergency braking, one of NHTSA's standardized taxonomy codes used to group defect patterns across make, model, and year.

The filer flagged the following severity indicators: crash: no, fire: no, injuries: 0, fatalities: 0. No crash, fire, or fatality was associated with this report, which places it in the early-warning stream rather than the priority-review stream. Because a VIN was supplied, this complaint is tied to a specific vehicle and not just a model-year cohort.

Individual complaints are consumer-submitted and unverified by NHTSA engineers — the agency's role at this stage is to collect, index, and make them searchable. What matters for federal action is the pattern: when many owners of the same JEEP WRANGLER cohort independently describe similar forward collision avoidance: automatic emergency braking failures, defect investigators have grounds to open a PE and request manufacturer data. Complaint Description

The ABS, Trac control & Brake lights are all illuminated on the dashboard. I took it to have a professional check it out. It turns out the ABS Modulator is faulty, causing my Jeep to not have ABS, or traction control. This is a safety hazard as the Jeep is not known for its great handling during any emergency braking situation. Here's the worst part. Jeep has known about this for over a year without any solutions to fix it. Why haven't they been held to the standards? Didn't the government bale them out before? This is a serius Safety feature and Jeep needs to do something about this, ASAP.
