Open-data reference.

NHTSA Complaint about FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: AUTOMATIC EMERGENCY BRAKING filed June 24, 2024

NHTSA complaint #2001917 (ODI reference 11596082) concerns a 2015 JEEP WRANGLER and was filed on June 24, 2024. The owner reports the failure occurred on June 1, 2023. The report was geocoded to Florida based on the filer's self-reported location. The affected component is categorized as forward collision avoidance: automatic emergency braking, one of NHTSA's standardized taxonomy codes used to group defect patterns across make, model, and year.

The filer flagged the following severity indicators: crash: no, fire: no, injuries: 0, fatalities: 0. No crash, fire, or fatality was associated with this report, which places it in the early-warning stream rather than the priority-review stream. Because a VIN was supplied, this complaint is tied to a specific vehicle and not just a model-year cohort.

Individual complaints are consumer-submitted and unverified by NHTSA engineers — the agency's role at this stage is to collect, index, and make them searchable. What matters for federal action is the pattern: when many owners of the same JEEP WRANGLER cohort independently describe similar forward collision avoidance: automatic emergency braking failures, defect investigators have grounds to open a PE and request manufacturer data. Complaint Description

ABS, Traction Control, and Brake lights have been on for more than a year. I have taken it to Jeep Dealership here in Jacksonville, FL and they have continually tried to order the part from Jeep, but are told that the part is. not available at this time. I called Jeep directly and have been told "Part STOCK is under QUARANTINE pending quality / engineering review and inspection. Working to obtain timing on resolve to predict allocation and shipment to DLR to fulfill No firm ETA to provide at this time. Pending response from SPLR / PKG Working to improve." Which is not really an answer. My ABS does not work, and my car cannot be put into cruise control mode without this part being replaced. I feel that my car is not safe without ABS and traction control functioning properly. Part in question is: 68259556AD Module
