2015 TOYOTA COROLLA — Complaint #1193572
Open-data reference.
NHTSA Complaint about EQUIPMENT ADAPTIVE/MOBILITY filed June 25, 2015
NHTSA complaint #1193572 (ODI reference 10730294) concerns a 2015 TOYOTA COROLLA and was filed on June 25, 2015. The owner reports the failure occurred on May 6, 2015. The vehicle had 200 miles on the odometer at the time of the incident. The report was geocoded to Washington based on the filer's self-reported location. The affected component is categorized as equipment adaptive/mobility, one of NHTSA's standardized taxonomy codes used to group defect patterns across make, model, and year.
The filer flagged the following severity indicators: crash: no, fire: no, injuries: 0, fatalities: 0. No crash, fire, or fatality was associated with this report, which places it in the early-warning stream rather than the priority-review stream. Because a VIN was supplied, this complaint is tied to a specific vehicle and not just a model-year cohort.
Individual complaints are consumer-submitted and unverified by NHTSA engineers — the agency's role at this stage is to collect, index, and make them searchable. What matters for federal action is the pattern: when many owners of the same TOYOTA COROLLA cohort independently describe similar equipment adaptive/mobility failures, defect investigators have grounds to open a PE and request manufacturer data. Related filings for the same vehicle and component appear below, and the detail page for the full 2015 TOYOTA COROLLA shows the complete component-level complaint distribution alongside any active investigations or recalls.
Complaint Description
I OWN A 2015 TOYOTA COROLLA S PREMIUM. IT HAS THE RADIO SYSTEM WITH BLUE TOOTH AND GPS. THE PROBLEM IS THAT WHILE I AM LISTENING TO THE RADIO AND THE GPS COMES ON GIVING DIRECTIONS, THE RADIO DOES NOT FADE SO THE RADIO AND THE GPS ARE TALKING OVER EACH OTHER AND I CAN'T UNDERSTAND THE GPS. BECAUSE OF THE CONFUSION OF BOTH VOICES I HAVE MADE THE WRONG TURN WHICH HAS ALMOST LED TO ACCIDENTS. 1-800 TOYOTA CLAIMS THERE IS NOT A PROBLEM BUT, EVEN MY DEALERSHIP SERVICE DEPARTMENT AGREES THERE IS. THERE HAVE BEEN MANY COMPLAINTS ON THIS BUT, NOTHING IS REALLY BEING DONE.
