The 2024TOYOTAVENZA carries 30 consumer safety complaints in NHTSA's Office of Defects Investigation database for this specific model-year cohort. Within that volume, owners reported 6 crashes, 0 fires, 1 injury, and 0 fatalities. No NCAP 5-star crash-test rating is available for this model year in the federal database.
Component-level analysis is where model-year complaints become actionable: the top complaint category for the 2024 VENZA is unknown or other with 7 filings, followed by electrical system (4) and exterior lighting (3). Concentration in one or two component groups is the classic signature of a systemic defect; a flat distribution usually reflects normal aging, warranty complaints, or isolated build-plant variability. This model year has 1 active recall campaign, which means the manufacturer is obligated to remedy the covered defect at no charge for the life of the vehicle — the full NHTSA campaign numbers are listed below.
NHTSA currently has 51 investigation files overlapping the 2024 VENZA, and 1 remain open. Owners comparing this cohort against neighboring years should pair the counters above with the complaint-by-year trend on the parent model page — a spike in a single year often tracks to a platform refresh, a new transmission supplier, or an updated ECU calibration. Use the related-complaint feed below to read raw owner narratives before deciding whether any pattern here affects your specific use case.

Last year my vehicle rear camera and sensor failed to which caused me to backup into a mailbox. I had brought it up after a car wash at the dealership and they said they didn't know about any recalls at the time. I recently saw the recall for this year and make and would like this to be investigated further. I also have an estimate for the damages that I can provide.
After applying the brakes in a sudden situation, the automatic emergency braking came on but the car didn't stop. The brake pedal was pushed all the way to the floor board but the car didn't stop and crashed into the vehicle in front. This happened once before but didn't end in a crash. This was a total brake failure.

When driving at night using low beams a shadow is cast by the headlights. The shadow is on the driver's side approximately 100 feet in front of the vehicle, at the 11:00 position. This gives the impression that someone or something is entering the path of the vehicle causing the driver to brake or swerve to avoid a collision. This endangers the occupants of the vehicle and others on the roadway. If the driver grows accustomed to this and "learns" not to pay attention to this area of his/her path it endangers those who enter this area.
The other day when I was backing out of a parking spot my car almost backed into 2 people. There was no alert from the rear cross traffic warning.

I donât have the specific date that this happened because it was several times. When I first got the car the Toyota app stopped working after a few days. I brought it back a couple times and they replaced the headpiece because the app system crashed. Then the CarPlay stopped working not long after the head piece was replaced and the app stopped working. After going to the dealership for eight or nine times they finally ordered me a DCM. While waiting for that part, the auto start via key fog was not heating up the car. So with presetting the defrost to be on for auto start, the hazards came on when I auto started it. I happened to have had it at the service department when it happened and the mechanic said he didnât know how to shut it off so he had to disconnect the battery. While I was speaking with Toyota about it on the phone, they asked me to try it out to see if the problem was gone and it wasnât and I couldnât shut the hazards off. So I drove with the hazards on

During the commute on the way home on [XXX] between Harrisburg and Lebanon PA a stone kicked up in a construction zone and impacted the driver side windshield. At that time there was no visible damage until later in the drive there was a 3in long crack in the driver side line of sight. As the drive continued the crack continued across the line of sight. Over the course of 2 days the crack went from 3inches to halfway across the windshield. The stone crack was no bigger than a size of an eraser on a pencil. I believe this needs investigated just like the 2021 model's with defective windshields. Toyota care (ref [XXX]) was called, they declined my incident. My purchased extended warranty for chips, cracks, dents was also denied because its bigger than 3inches. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

The multimedia display, which shows the gps mapping being sync'd from my phone has a pop up advertisement ""experience drive connect"" for a subscription service. According to multiple dealers this can not be disabled or turned off except by subscribing to Toyota Drive Connect. So, without a subscription, the multimedia display is disabled since the first screen which is an advertisement can not be removed or disabled in order to utilize the multimedia display. This has created a safety hazard for many posters on ToyotaNation forums and other sites. I believe this problem started with the 2023 version of their display and was not present on 2022 or earlier models.
