Component-level analysis is where model-year complaints become actionable: the top complaint category for the 2015 VENZA is unknown or other with 8 filings, followed by service brakes (5) and air bags (5). Concentration in one or two component groups is the classic signature of a systemic defect; a flat distribution usually reflects normal aging, warranty complaints, or isolated build-plant variability. This model year has 1 active recall campaign, which means the manufacturer is obligated to remedy the covered defect at no charge for the life of the vehicle — the full NHTSA campaign numbers are listed below.
NHTSA currently has 51 investigation files overlapping the 2015 VENZA, and 1 remain open. Owners comparing this cohort against neighboring years should pair the counters above with the complaint-by-year trend on the parent model page — a spike in a single year often tracks to a platform refresh, a new transmission supplier, or an updated ECU calibration. Use the related-complaint feed below to read raw owner narratives before deciding whether any pattern here affects your specific use case.

Toyota Motor Engineering & Manufacturing (Toyota) is recalling certain 2009-2015 Venza vehicles. The Supplemental Restraint System (SRS) wiring may become damaged with regular use of the driver-side door.
The navigation and radio system will cut off and restart that warning. This loses critical settings and distracts drivers from attention to the road. If youâre using navigation, itâs gone if you are listening to instructions from an external source connected to the system, itâs gone. This radio is definitely available for inspection. This is a frequent occurrence on most any trip at any time multiple times per trip. This is definitely a safety hazard, if traveling in heavy traffic and unfamiliar places.
Sunroof leaking into front driver & passenger pillars with airbags. Dealership quotes $6k to fix, but they didnât know where / how itâs leaking!! There are no drain lines in this model, so itâs just a leak into the air bags plain and simple. This is a manufacturer issue- if no drain lines / weep holes, then why do you have to replace a $6k sunroof to fix an $50 seal / gasket? Very Unsat. Others are having the same issue. Saw 13 others with similar or same issue on NHTSA websiteâ¦Toyota dealer was charging me $1,000 to look at it and tell me , yeah, there is a leak! Thats why I brought it to you! This is the panoramic sunroof model. Very unsafe!

The engine is consuming oil at an alarming rate. Didnât reach my normal 5000 miles for an oil change and the oil stick was bone dry. Its put me and my family at risk because its the main reason the car is driving. No it has not been reproduced. No. Yes there was a warning lamp almost a year ago when it first happened where the engine burned most of the oil leaving nothing in the engine.
Last December my airbag light came on. I took it to Minot Chrysler Center and Toyota Center and they told me the wires for the airbag under the drivers seat were frayed and needed to be replaced. They also had to replace the harness because they said that too was not working. I had it fixed. Three weeks ago the light went off I made an appointment right away and today they told me it was the same issue and had to replace the wires on the passenger side. I called Toyota and they told me it was up to the discretion of the tech. I called the tech at the Chrysler Center and she told me that they couldnât do that because they would have to file a report and then deal with Toyota. I was not happy with that response and I said oh so you are telling me thatâs too much work and I am on my own. I just ended up paying for it twice now. The drivers side was $594.00 and todayâs charges were $485.00. This is a safety issue and should be addressed
On 10/24/22, I was stopped in traffic at the lower end of a hill. This was in Arlington, TX on Lamar St. near Collins traveling east. Although I was using my brakes as we were at a red light, the car started accelerating forward. It would not stop with further brake usage or trying to put the car into park position. I hit the car in front of me gently. Not seeing any damage, and because the other driver did not feel the impact, I did not report the incident to the insurance company. I do not know if it was a brake problem or other problem. I recently purchased the car after my Toyota Camry was totaled at the end of July 2022. However, that car had a similar problem in another accident that was reported to my Allstate agent.
Extremely uncomfortable drivers side and passenger headrests, causing my head and neck to be pushed forward. This causes me back and neck pain, pushing you in a position to have chronic neck/back pain and very bad posture. Iâve seen many complaints online, including many newer makes and models. It sounds like the new feature is supposed to reduce whiplash, in the chance of an accident, but if people take their headrests off or flip them backwards then itâs a bad design. I am 5 feet 5 inches tall, and Iâve heard of this affecting others of a similar height, please consider redesigning

HOOD IS STUCK CLOSE. IT HAS HAPPENED AT LEAST 3 TIMES. POSSIBLE PROBLEM IS LATCH. THE VEHICLE IS STATIONARY AND ENGINE NOT RUNNING PARKED IN GARAGE.
DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY AND COMING TO A STOP SIGN THERE WAS A SUDDEN EXPLOSION...IT SOUNDED LIKE A TIRE EXPLODED BUT LOUDER. I STOPPED AT THE STOP SIGN AND GOT OUT OF MY CAR AND WALKED AROUND THE VEHICLE FOR A BUSTED TIRE, BUT THEN I SAW THAT MY SUNROOF WAS CONTINUING TO CRACK...THE SUNROOF HAD EXPLODED. I WALKED TO THE VEHICLE THAT HAD STOPPED BEHIND ME AND ASKED THEM IF THEY HAD SEEN ANYTHING HIT MY CAR AND THEY SAID NO. MY SUNROOF CONTINUED TO SHATTER AS I DROVE HOME. FRIGHTENING SITUATION! TOYOTA NEEDS TO RECALL THEIR SUNROOFS BECAUSE I'VE SEEN SEVERAL ON THIS SITE AS HAVING EXPERIENCED THIS SAME PROBLEM.

THE RADIO NAVIGATION SYSTEM JUST TURNS OFF AND RESETS FOR NO APPARENT REASON IT DOES IT ST ANYTIME ANYWHERE ANY SPEED. IT WILL JUST STOP AND RESTART AND IF YOUR USING NAVIGATION YOU LOOSE YOUR DESTINATION, SO YOU HAVE THE INSTINCT TO TRY AND RE INPUT YOUR TRAVEL LOCATION WHICH CAUSES YOU TO NOT WATCH THE ROAD. IT HAPPENS ALMOST EVERY TIME I DRIVE THE CAR.
