Component-level analysis is where model-year complaints become actionable: the top complaint category for the 2013 VENZA is air bags with 12 filings, followed by service brakes (10) and unknown or other (9). Concentration in one or two component groups is the classic signature of a systemic defect; a flat distribution usually reflects normal aging, warranty complaints, or isolated build-plant variability. This model year has 4 active recall campaigns, which means the manufacturer is obligated to remedy the covered defect at no charge for the life of the vehicle — the full NHTSA campaign numbers are listed below.
NHTSA currently has 51 investigation files overlapping the 2013 VENZA, and 1 remain open. Owners comparing this cohort against neighboring years should pair the counters above with the complaint-by-year trend on the parent model page — a spike in a single year often tracks to a platform refresh, a new transmission supplier, or an updated ECU calibration. Subject: Formal Complaint Regarding Potential Safety Issue - 2009-2015 Toyota Venza Models Dear National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), I am writing to formally report a potential safety concern related to the 2009-2015 Toyota Venza Models. The issue pertains to a discernible creaking sound originating from the turn signal stalk when the turn signals are engaged and the steering wheel is turned. Upon thorough examination, it has been identified that the source of this noise is the clock spring, a crucial airbag component designated by its yellow color and distinguished by two orange and yellow wires. It is imperative to emphasize that the clock spring, being a vital element of the airbag system, plays a pivotal role in ensuring occupant safety. Unfortunately, the persistent "clicking/ratcheting" noise associated with the turn signals in these models has been observed to have adverse consequences over time. This prolonged issue leads to clock spring failure, subsequen

I complained to a Toyota Dealer about this problem in 6-2017. The took it for a road test and the car did not do it and it did not record a code. So they could not find a solution. Intermittently and without warning the electronic link between the gas pedal and the engine is inoperative for 3-5 seconds. During this period the car is not under power, it is coasting and depressing the gas pedal has no effect on the engine speed. After this period the electronic link is automatically restored and the engine is again responsive to pressure on the gas pedal. I have been dealing with this scenario ever since I purchased this car in 8-2013. It seems to be happening more frequently. Needless to say, it is a very dangerous situation. I no longer feel safe driving this car. .

Internal Fault of fuel pump assembly. With NO prior warnings of messages or warning lights from the dash, nor any poor performance issues of starting or running of the engine the fuel pump failed all at once while driving on an expressway at 65 mph and the engine shut down leaving me without any control of my vehicle. The vehicle was towed to the dealer who confirmed that the fuel pump had an internal failure and the vehicle is disabled. No Recall has been issues by Toyota for this model year. An extremely dangerous situation that Toyota is not properly addressing.

THE AIRBAG WARNING SYSTEM LIGHT CAME ON IN DEC 2019. I PURCHASED A DTC READER BLUE DRIVER) AND SCANNED THE VEHICLE. AIRBAG CODE B1698 REGISTERED. I SWITCHED LEFT DOOR SENSOR WITH THE RIGHT DOOR SENSOR AND STILL THE LEFT DOOR SENSOR CODE REMAINED. I DISMANTLED THE CENTER CONSOLE, LEFT AND RIGHT DOOR PANELS, ETC. BUT COULD NOT RESOLVE THE MALFUNCTION CODE. I FINALLY GAVE UP AND HAVE DRIVEN WITHOUT AN ACTIVE AIRBAG SYSTEM. I'M FILING THIS COMPLAINT IN SUPPORT OF YOUR RECALL FOR THE TOYOTA VENZA AIRBAG WIRING.

TURNED ON ENGINE WENT TO PUSH UP THE DRIVER SIDE SUN VISOR IT WOULD NOT CLICK INTO PLACE I TRIED AGAIN AND THE VISOR JUST DROPPED AND WOULD NOT GO UP AGAIN. IT APPEARS THAT THE MECHANISM TO HOLD THE VISOR UP IS PULLING THE FABRIC OUT FROM UNDER THE MIRROR TOO. THIS HAPPENED 8/27/2020. THERE IS NO REASON FOR THIS TO HAPPEN SINCE THIS CAR IS CARED FOR BY THE ORIGINAL OWNER.
THIS CAR HAS 166000 MILES ON IT AND ALWAYS HAD A DEALER OIL CHANGES. IT NOW IS USING A QUART OFF OIL EVERY 1000 MILES OR LESS. THERE ARE NO OIL LEAKS TO BE FOUND AND THE DEALER ADMITS THAT THAT IS TO MUCH OIL CONSUMPTION BUT CANNOT HELP ME WITH ANY KIND OF FACTORY REPAIRS. FOR A MODERN ENGINE THIS IS WAY TO MUCH OIL USE. I HAVE A 1990 TOYOTA CAMRY WITH 522000 MILES AND USES LESS THAN 1/2 A QUART BETWEEN OIL CHANGES. TOYOTA HAS REALLY GONE DOWN HILL ON THIS ENGINE DESIGN.
