My 1999 Toyota Tacoma was involved in a rear end vehicle collision (the front of my vehicle struck the rear of a vehicle traveling in front of me) at a speed of approximately 40-45 mph. The roadway surface was smooth asphalt at a slight downgrade during clear/dry weather conditions on Monday 7/19/2021 at approximately 2:40 p.m. in Wythe County, VA. TAKATA RECALL- MY HUSBAND HAD A SEIZURE WHILE DRIVING. HE CROSSED OVER TO ONCOMING TRAFFIC. HE HIT ONE CAR, WENT OVER A CURB AND DOWN AN EMBANKMENT AND ENDED UP HITTING THE BACK OF A SUBWAY. HIS CAR WENT THROUGH THE WALL INTO THE SUBWAY. AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. POLICE DID FILE A REPORT AND HE WAS TAKEN TO THE HOSPITAL IN AN AMBULANCE. HIS CAR WAS TOTALED.

MY SON WAS IN AN ACCIDENT WITH MY TOYOTA TACOMA TRUCK IN MARCH. HE LOST CONTROL AND TOTALED THE TRUCK. I WAS RECENTLY INFORMED THAT THERE WAS A RECALL ON TOYOTA TACOMA FOR RUSTED FRAMES. I WAS TOLD THE FRAME WAS BENT AFTER THE ACCIDENT. THEREFORE I THOUGHT THAT THE RUSTED FRAME MAY HAVE CAUSED THE ACCIDENT. I CALLED THE TOYOTA DEALER AND WAS TOLD BECAUSE THE VEHICLE WAS IN AN ACCIDENT AND NO LONGER REGISTERED IT WAS NOT ELIGIBLE FOR THE RECALL. THE FRAME IS BADLY RUSTED AND MAY HAVE CAUSED
PREMATURE RUST THROUGH OF FRAME. WELL MAINTAINED VEHICLE BECAME UNSTABLE. UPON INSPECTION, FRAME HAD RUSTED COMPLETELY THROUGH ON DRIVERS SIDE, DETERIORATING ON PASSENGER SIDE. FRAME IS FLEXING AT POINT BETWEEN CAB AND BED ENOUGH THAT REAR OF CAB HAS CONTACTED WITH BED. VEHICLE UNSAFE TO DRIVE HOME THREE MILES AS FRAME IS NEAR SEPARATION, REAR SPRING HANGER IS CLOSE TO SEPARATING. UNACCEPTABLE/DANGEROUS MANUFACTURING/PREPARATION OF FRAME BY TOYOTA. *TR
