Throttle accelerates on its own when cold. This especially happens when vehicle has not fully warmed up in weather below freezing. I will let off the throttle and vehicle will continue to accelerate for several seconds before seemingly getting unstuck. There is no issue with throttle cable, and throttle body has been cleaned since the onset, which changed nothing.

MY FUEL CAP VENTED GASOLINE, VIOLENTLY. FUEL RAN DOWN MY BODY PANELS BELOW THE GAS CAP AS VAPOR/LIQUID SPEWED OUT OF THE CAR. IT SEEMS THE FUEL SYSTEM WAS OVER PRESSURIZED. I WAS AT CHINN'S LAKE IN COLORADO. ELEVATION IS ROUGHLY 11,000 FEET. TEMP WAS AROUND 70F. GAS TANK WAS AROUND HALF FULL WITH PREMIUM GAS FROM COSTCO. FROM WHAT I HAVE READ, IT APPEARS THE GASOLINE BEGAN TO BOIL AND NEEDED TO VENT. THIS CAN BE FROM A FAULTY EVAP SYSTEM, AN OVERHEATED FUEL SYSTEM, ETHANOL IN THE GASOLINE, ETC...

I PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE FROM ROCKY'S AUTO MASS IN WORCESTER MASSACHUSETTES. I WAS TOLD IT WAS INSPECTABLE. I HAD IT SHIPPED TO VERMONT AND MY LOCAL INSPECTION STATION EXPLAINED THAT THE FRAME IS COMPLETELY MISSING IN CERTAIN AREAS AND THE VEHICLE CAN NOT BE INSPECTED OR DRIVEN.

PEDAL WENT TO THE FLOOR WITH NO POWER AT ALL. USED E BRAKE TO COME TO A CRUISING STOP IN FRONT OF 49TH POLICE PRECINCT. ALMOST COLLIDED WITH FULL SIZE SCHOOL BUS WHILE TRYING TO E BRAKE STOP. MASTER CYLINDER COMPLETE FAILURE DIAGNOSED BY MECHANIC. TOTAL COST FOR REPAIRS $3K DOLLARS. NO PREVIOUS WARNING BEFORE THIS INCIDENT, NO PREVIOUS PROBLEMS BRAKING BEFORE THIS INCIDENT. PROBLEM IS WELL KNOWN AMONG LAND CRUISER OWNERS. CHECKED IH8MUD.COM FOR MORE CASES INVOLVING THIS MODEL VEHICLE FROM TOYOTA. I'VE HAD MORE THAN 15 CARS IN MY LIFETIME, SOME WITH VERY HIGH MILEAGE. NEVER HAD COMPLETE BRAKE FAILURE. I THINK ABOUT THE POSSIBILITY IF I WAS ON HIGHWAY DOING 65MPH WITH NO SHOULDER OR TRAFFIC AHEAD. THIS PROBLEM SHOULD BE RECTIFIED AS THERE ARE NUMEROUS CASES I'

SHE DEPRESSED THE BRAKE PEDAL WHICH WENT DOWN TO THE FLOOR BUT DID NOT SLOW OR STOP THE VEHICLE. SHE MADE A U-TURN, COASTED INTO A DRIVEWAY, SHIFTED INTO PARK AND TURNED THE VEHICLE OFF. THE CONTACT DROVE THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THE DEALER TOLD HIM THAT THE BRAKE BOOSTER ASSEMBLY HAD FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED AT THAT TIME. HE CALLED THE MANUFACTURER AND RECEIVED A VERBAL COMMITMENT THAT THE REPAIR CHARGES WOULD BE COVERED BUT IT WAS LATER DENIED. THERE WERE NO FURTHER PROBLEMS WITH THE BRAKING SYSTEM SINCE THAT FIRST FAILURE. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 149,000. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 132,000.
