The 2024TOYOTACROWN carries 20 consumer safety complaints in NHTSA's Office of Defects Investigation database for this specific model-year cohort. Within that volume, owners reported 1 crash, 0 fires, 0 injuries, and 0 fatalities. No NCAP 5-star crash-test rating is available for this model year in the federal database.
Component-level analysis is where model-year complaints become actionable: the top complaint category for the 2024 CROWN is engine with 5 filings, followed by service brakes (3) and unknown or other (2). Concentration in one or two component groups is the classic signature of a systemic defect; a flat distribution usually reflects normal aging, warranty complaints, or isolated build-plant variability. This model year has 3 active recall campaigns, which means the manufacturer is obligated to remedy the covered defect at no charge for the life of the vehicle — the full NHTSA campaign numbers are listed below.
NHTSA currently has 51 investigation files overlapping the 2024 CROWN, and 1 remain open. Owners comparing this cohort against neighboring years should pair the counters above with the complaint-by-year trend on the parent model page — a spike in a single year often tracks to a platform refresh, a new transmission supplier, or an updated ECU calibration. Use the related-complaint feed below to read raw owner narratives before deciding whether any pattern here affects your specific use case.

I was backing up the vehicle into a driveway and then again the screen went blank and no back up lights as well. This vehicle had just been back from the dealer and they had requested photos which I did immediately and back to the dealer for about the 6th time for the same issue.
With "hold" feature engaged after 3 to 4 minutes car moved forward ON IT's own and main panel displayed EPS TURNED on. this happened 4 times in about 15 minutes. AFTER I had car in the dealership THAT DAY.

I had Hold feature engaged during a I-70 construction traffic stop. after 7 or 8 minutes auto rolled forward by it's self and something like eps turned on. I was floored at this hazzard and it could have killed someone, if they were infront of my auto.

Intermittently as I press on the brake, the engine loses power, engine feels like it is going to die and the charge meter on the dash display drops to no charge. Right before the engine dies the engine regains charge on the dash display charge meter and the engine returns to normal. So far the engine has never totally died on me yet.

When starting into traffic from a dead stop - stop sign, merging, traffic light - the car hesitates acceleration. It stumbles and shudders like it has run out of gas for h n it has not. This puts me in danger when pulling out into traffic since the car does not take off properly. The car has 16,151 miles on it and this issue has begun within the last 60 days. It has had no previous problems. I have not yet taken it to a dealer. There are no warning lights lit wh n this happens. The date below is the most recent.

2024 Crown Platinum 5k miles. This incident has happened several times. The car will completely stall out, have no power, wonât move. Itâs random at times and other times it after a stop sign, yield, or slow down in speed. When you go to give it gas you have to stick the gas pedal to the floor and pray it will go. It always comes out of it, but takes a few seconds to get it together. Itâs like it doesnât know what mode itâs in- hybrid or power, so it sits and thinks about it. This could be deadly in the right situation.

When the car is cold the brake is applied, the start button is pushed, the engine starts. The transmission is set to either drive or reverse, the gas pedal is lightly pushed where the brake is still applied by the car. If acceleration further to get moving, the car lurches forward (startling the driver). I nearly hit my garage front wall.
To whom it may concern, We purchased a brand-new car (2024 Toyota Crown Platinum Hybrid Max) from Fletcher Toyota in Joplin, MO for $50,000 USD around May or June of 2024. We have had 2 unresolved issues with the new car and the dealership has not resolved the issues even though it is under a bumper-to-bumper warranty. The 2 issues are that the wireless phone charger in the car is malfunctioning and not working with any phone we put with it, and the second concern is the accelerator will randomly quit working which can be dangerous. This is our only car for transportation. I took the car to the dealership to be fixed and spoke with a service employee. He told us that the issues were not acting up at the time of the visit so he couldn't fix anything. I then insisted I take his mechanic on a test drive with me where both issues presented, and they reported they would file a claim with Toyota. After several days of not hearing anything, I called the Service department manager, who

When driving off from a stop it seemed like my car was hesitating when pressing the gas. Has done this a few times now, the first time I was not sure if that happened or not. But after about the fifth time Iâm like whatâs going on. I have just over 4000 miles on my car. When you pull out in traffic and your car wonât pickup speed youâre waiting for a rear end collision. I was reading online where others have had the same problem. When I go for my 5000 mile check will ask the dealer about it but Iâm sure they will say no not any problems. Has happened more than 5 times now but not every time I am driving.

My AC stopped working in my brand new 2024 Toyota Crown car (only 2000 miles on it). I took it to the dealer and they are telling me that somehow a small rock from the road somehow damaged my air condenser. I am seeing this is a problem others have on the Toyota forum. Why is the air condenser not protected from small debris? They are making me file an insurance claim instead of covering it under warranty and I find this absurd. I have not driven this car in gravel or off road. How do I go about having Toyota fix this issue, as how was I supposed to avoid this? Itâs humanly impossible to prevent this issue from happening again if the condenser is not protected and a small rock sitting on the road can cause this much damage.
The contact owns a 2024 Toyota Crown. The contact stated that while driving at 77MPH during rainy weather, the Proactive Driving Assistant (PDA) engaged due to it detecting a vehicle ahead however the system failed and undetected the vehicle while that vehicle was still present. Due to the failure, the vehicle increased in speed however the contact was able to depress the brake pedal and disengage the Proactive Driving Assistant (PDA) in order to avoid a crash. On another most recent occasion; the contact stated while driving at approximately 40MPH, with the cruise control activated the front camera sensor did not detect another vehicle driving ahead and to avoid a collision, the contact swerved to the shoulder of the road. The contact had collided with an unidentified object while attempting to avoid a crash. Partial of the front passenger view mirror and passenger side rear tire rim were damaged. No warning lights had illuminated. No police report was filed. No injuries were sustain
