The 2025TOYOTACAMRY carries 136 consumer safety complaints in NHTSA's Office of Defects Investigation database for this specific model-year cohort. Within that volume, owners reported 18 crashes, 0 fires, 12 injuries, and 0 fatalities. No NCAP 5-star crash-test rating is available for this model year in the federal database.

Component-level analysis is where model-year complaints become actionable: the top complaint category for the 2025 CAMRY is unknown or other with 20 filings, followed by visibility/wiper (14) and electrical system (11). Concentration in one or two component groups is the classic signature of a systemic defect; a flat distribution usually reflects normal aging, warranty complaints, or isolated build-plant variability. This model year has 1 active recall campaign, which means the manufacturer is obligated to remedy the covered defect at no charge for the life of the vehicle — the full NHTSA campaign numbers are listed below.

NHTSA currently has 51 investigation files overlapping the 2025 CAMRY, and 1 remain open. Owners comparing this cohort against neighboring years should pair the counters above with the complaint-by-year trend on the parent model page — a spike in a single year often tracks to a platform refresh, a new transmission supplier, or an updated ECU calibration. Use the related-complaint feed below to read raw owner narratives before deciding whether any pattern here affects your specific use case.

The electrical charging system is failing to properly charge the 12V battery. This is a hybrid vehicle and the hybrid battery is not effected. The dealer has had to replace the battery once as defective but the problem persists. The battery is not being charged and I am getting battery warning lights and a dead battery.

Defective driver seat. The lumbar support on the drivers seat is loose and pushed forward when driving, it presses against the lower back when you brake while driving. This issue is very prominent when driving for over 20 mins and makes it uncomfortable to use the car. Toyota has replicated the issue but have failed to over a repair

I was driving on 2/11/2026 at roughly 45 mph and all of sudden my car lost power. The whole engine shut down while the vehicle was still moving. Then it came back up and reset my whole dashboard settings. This is the second time that display has reset itself. I am taking my vehicle back to the dealer for inspection. This is not safe.

I parked the car to load something into the trunk. I admit I did not verify that the car was in Park, and I missed fully moving the selector all the way forward and it clicked into reverse. I turned off the car and stepped out, the car started to roll away going forwards. I was able to chase the car, hop in and stop it. No injuries or damage occurred. Cars with electronic parking brakes should apply the parking break if a door is opened, the seatbelt is unbuckled and the brake pedal is released.

20260122AIR BAGS

While driving, the vehicle experienced an unintended side airbag deployment without any collision or impact. At the same time, the seatbelt locked, the vehicle came to a sudden stop, and a hybrid system malfunction warning appeared. The vehicle immediately became undrivable and was towed. The vehicle remains available for inspection and is currently under the manufacturer’s control. This sudden failure created a serious safety risk due to the unexpected airbag deployment and loss of vehicle control while driving. As a result of the incident, I sustained physical injuries and sought medical attention. The vehicle has been inspected by the manufacturer. The manufacturer has stated they are unable to confirm whether the vehicle is safe to operate and the investigation remains ongoing. No warning lights or messages appeared prior to the failure. The event occurred suddenly and without warning. Law enforcement responded to assist with traffic safety and relocation of the disabled vehi

There is a squeaking noise that comes from the front DRIVE SHAFT TRANSAXLE SEAL of my 2025 Toyota Camry XSE when turning the vehicle at slow speeds without applying the brakes. The vehicle was inspected by the Toyota Dealership I purchased it from and they replicated and confirmed this defect on 1-03-2026. A defective or malfunctioning axle seal can wear out over time, which can cause it to leak. If there is significant fluid loss it could lead to failure of the transmission while driving which could lead to an accident. There were no warning messages, only the symptom of the squeaking noise. The dealership states there is currently no fix to this issue and had no solution for me at this time. They stated that this issue is currently under investigation by Toyota engineers. The squeaking appears to be getting louder and more frequent.

My 2025 Toyota Camry XSE (Hybrid) is subject to an open safety recall issued December 16, 2025. The recall involves a serious safety risk, and I was advised by the dealership not to drive the vehicle. At the time of the recall, the vehicle was approximately two months old with about 1,500 miles and in like-new condition. Because there is currently no available remedy, I was required to leave the vehicle stored at the dealership. I have been without use of my own vehicle since January 6, 2026 and am using a loaner vehicle solely due to the safety recall, not by choice. Toyota has stated a fix may not be available until at least Q1 2026, with no defined repair timeline, and customers are being told to wait without interim mitigation. I am concerned about the inability to safely operate my vehicle and the long-term impact of extended storage on a nearly new hybrid vehicle, including hybrid battery health, fuel and fluid systems, seals, tires, and interior and exterior materials. The OEM Bridgestone Turanza tires installed on my new 2025 Toyota Camry SE Hybrid exhibited dangerously premature tread wear. At 20,000 miles, three tires measured 4/32" and one measured 3/32". At 25,000 miles, three tires measured 3/32" and one measured 2/32", which is the legal minimum and a safety concern. The vehicle currently has 26,000 miles. Both Toyota and Bridgestone have refused warranty coverage. This creates an unreasonable safety risk for normal vehicle use.

20260106TIRES

Dear Bridgestone Customer Care Team, I am contacting you regarding factory-installed Bridgestone Turanza tires, size 235/45R18, on a 2025 Toyota Camry. Despite normal use and routine maintenance, the tires have experienced extreme premature tread wear: At 20,000 miles: three tires 4/32”, one tire 3/32” At 25,000 miles: three tires 3/32”, one tire 2/32” (unsafe) Bridgestone Turanza tires are advertised as long-life touring tires (50,000–65,000 miles expected). Reaching unsafe tread depth at only 25,000 miles is far below expectations. I am requesting a prorated replacement or reimbursement based on remaining tread life. Please advise if you require additional documentation or inspection. Thank you for your attention. I look forward to your prompt response.

20260105STRUCTURE:BODY

I am reporting a recurring safety defect involving the front bumper assembly on my brand-new Toyota Camry Hybrid. The front bumper repeatedly detaches, separates, and pulls away from the vehicle during normal driving conditions. This has occurred multiple times despite repeated repair attempts by the authorized Toyota dealership. Toyota and the dealership have acknowledged that this is a known issue affecting other vehicles and have admitted that there is currently no permanent repair remedy available. Despite this, the defect has been misclassified as “cosmetic,” which is inaccurate and unsafe. The bumper is a critical safety component designed to absorb and distribute crash forces. A bumper that is already detached or partially unsecured compromises crash force pathways and reduces occupant protection in the event of a collision. If an accident occurs, the bumper cannot perform its intended safety function, increasing the risk of injury. Additionally, I can hear air intrusion
