BOTH FRONT DOORS CANNOT OPEN EITHER FROM EXTERIOR NOR INTERIOR WITH KEY. KEYS WORK FINE. LATCH/DOOR KNOB BOTH INSIDE AND OUTSIDE DON'T WORK AND NO SAFE EXIT OF VEHICLE EXCEPT THROUGH BACK DOOR. DEALERSHIP WANTS TO CHARGE $500 PER DOOR PLUS OTHER DIAGNOSTIC FEES TO FIX. I WOULD ALSO HAVE TO HAVE CAR TOWED IN FOR THEM TO DO DIAGNOSTICS ON IT. STATED THEY WOULD HAVE TO REMOVE THE DOORS. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE AND I FEEL THAT TOYOTA SHOULD FIX THE PROBLEM. THE DEALER STATED THAT THIS HAS TO BE HANDLED BY THE TOYOTA CORPORATE OFFICE. I CALLED THE CORPORATE OFFICE AND THE CUSTOMER AGENT STATED THAT THIS IS NOT TOYOTA'S PROBLEM AS THE CAR IS NOT UNDER ANY WARRANTY.

HERCULES ROADTOUR 655 TIRE DEVELOPED A LARGE BULGE IN SIDEWALL AREA. THIS WAS NOTICED AND THE TIRE WAS TAKEN OUT OF SERVICE AS BEING UNSAFE. THE LOCAL HERCULES TIRE DEALER SAID THAT THEY WOULD NOT REPLACE TIRE OR GIVE PARTIAL CREDIT ON A REPLACEMENT TIRE.

I STOPPED AT A GAS STATION YESTERDAY MORNING TO PUT AIR IN MY TIRE AND HAD MY SON WITH ME , I LEFT CAR IN PARK WITH ENGINE RUNNING , WHEN DONE I WAS PUTTING MY SON BACK INTO CAR SEAT , I LEANED INTO CAR WITH MY BACK TO THE STEERING WHEEL LEANING OVER THE DRIVER SEAT FIXING TO BUCKLE CAR SEAT WHEN OUT OF NOWHERE THE AIRBAG DEPLOYED FROM THE STEERING WHEEL AND HIT ME ON THE LEFT SIDE OF MY BACK AND NOW THERE ARE 3 HUGE BRUISES WHICH I HAVE TAKEN PICS OF , THERE WAS A MAN AT THE GAS PUMP WHO SAW AND HEARD THE COMMOTION HE CAME OVER FROM THE GAS PUMPS TO HELP ME , ITS MY OPINION THAT THE AIRBAG SHOULD NOT HAVE DEPLOYED FOR ANY REASON OTHER THAN A WRECK , AND NOW I CANT GET THE DEALERSHIPS TO EVEN LOOK TO SEE WHY IT DEPLOYED WITHOUT MONEY BECAUSE IT IS AN OLDER CAR WHICH SHOULD MAKE NO DIFFERENCE , ITS MY OPINION THAT THEY SHOULD ALWAYS CHECK SOMETHING LIKE THAT FOR ANYONE THAT HAS A FAILURE OF SUCH A KIND WITHOUT JUST CAUSE AND FIX IT WITHOUT PREJUDICE IF THERE'S NO REASON ON THE OWNERS

ON THE AFTERNOON OF OCTOBER 25, 2011, I DECIDED TO RUN THE ENGINE OF MY TEENAGE DAUGHTER?S 1992 TOYOTA CAMRY. THE CAR HAD BEEN STORED IN A COVERED AREA, AND NOT DRIVEN, SINCE AUGUST 15, 2011. BECAUSE THE BATTERY WAS CONNECTED, I FELT I SHOULD RUN THE ENGINE FOR A SHORT PERIOD. I UNLOCKED AND OPENED THE DRIVER DOOR AND SAT ON THE EDGE OF THE DRIVER SEAT WITH THE DOOR OPEN. MY INTENTION WAS TO START THE PARKED CAR AND LET IT RUN FOR A SHORT PERIOD (SEVERAL MINUTES) IN ORDER TO CHECK AND CHARGE THE BATTERY. IN ORDER TO PLACE THE KEY IN THE IGNITION, I PLACED MY LEFT ARM ACROSS THE TOP OF THE STEERING WHEEL, AND LEANING ACROSS THE FRONT OF THE STEERING WHEEL, INSERTED THE KEY IN THE IGNITION. UPON TURNING THE KEY IN THE IGNITION (1/4 TURN-THE ENGINE DID NOT TURN OVER), THE DRIVER AIR BAG EXPLODED AND THE CAR FILLED WITH BLACK SMOKE. THE IMPACT OF THE BAG HIT ME IN THE STERNUM, ACROSS THE CHEST AND LEFT CLAVICLE WITH THE FORCE OF THE BAG EXPANSION HITTING ME IN THE SOFT TISSUE OF MY

WHILE DRIVING MY 1992 TOYOTA CAMRY XLE 6 ON THE INTERSTATE, WITH THE RADIO ON, SMOKE SUDDENLY STARTED COMING OUT FROM UNDER THE RIGHT FRONT PASSENGER SEAT AND QUICKLY FILLED THE CABIN. I PULLED OFF THE ROAD AND SHUT OFF THE ENGINE. I LOOKED UNDER THE PASSENGER SEAT AND SAW A WIRED ELECTRIC MODULE WHICH WAS RED-HOT TO THE TOUCH. (SLIGHTLY BURNED FINGERTIP) I THEN CALLED FOR HELP AND HAD THE CAR TOWED TO MY HOME. THE NEXT DAY I FOUND OUT THAT THE UNDERSEAT SMOKING MODULE WAS THE STEREO POWER AMPLIFIER FOR THE RADIO. ALSO, I FOUND ON THE INTERNET REPORTS OF THE SAME PROBLEM ON OTHER CAMRYS WHICH RESULTED IN FIRES. *TR

SHE SAID IT FEELS AS THOUGH THE CRUISE CONTROL SYSTEM HAS TAKEN OVER CONTROL OF THE CAR. THIS PHENOMENON HAS TAKEN PLACE AT SPEEDS ABOVE 55 MPH AND AS SLOW AS 15 MPH.
