TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 1991 TOYOTA 4X4. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE SEAT OF THE VEHICLE BENT IN HALF AFTER THE CONTACT'S VEHICLE WAS REAR ENDED IN A CRASH. THERE WERE INJURIES SUSTAINED, BUT MEDICAL ATTENTION WAS NOT REQUIRED. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 60,000. UPDATE 01/13/16 MA *TR

HEATER BLOWER SWITCH OVER HEATING ON HIGH SPEED AND AN EVENTUAL FAILURE TO WORK. I HAVE REPLACED THE SWITCH 3 TIMES IN FOUR YEARS. EACH TIME THE OLD SWITCH WAS REMOVED IT WAS STARTING A MELT DOWN WHICH COULD LEAD TO AN EVENTUAL VEHICLE FIRE AND OR SERIOUS ACCIDENT. I THREW AWAY THE OLD PARTS BUT WILL HAVE ANOTHER SOON. THE SWITCH IS STARTING TO STICK IN THE HIGH SPEED POSITION,JUST LIKE ALL THE PREVIOUS OCCURRENCES. THE DEALERSHIP JUST SHRUGS AND SAYS HUH,THAT'S STRANGE. I HAPPEN TO KNOW A LOT OF OTHER INSTANCES ON OTHER YEAR MODELS AND VEHICLES. TOYOTA NEEDS TO RECOGNIZE THIS POTENTIAL HAZARD AND EXPENSE AND FIND A SOLUTION TO THE OVER DRAW ON THE SWITCH. *NM
WHILE TURNING ONTO THE STREET THE CENTER LINK CONTECTING THE TIRES (THE ROD STEERING LINK, TOYOTA PART #4545139145) SNAPPED IN HALF, LEAVING THE TRUCK COMPLETELY WITHOUT STEERING. I WAS ABLE TO STOP THE CAR BEFORE IT CRASHED.

THE HEAD GASKET BLEW UNDER WARRANTY ON JAN. 1993. IT WAS TOWED TO MODERN TOYOTA IN WINSTON-SALEM AND REPAIRED. AFTER REPAIRS THE ENGINE WAS MAKING NOISES. THE TRUCK WAS TAKEN BACK A COUPLE OF TIMES TO CORRECT THIS , WHICH WAS NEVER ACTUALLY DONE. THE TRUCK OVERHEATED AGAIN A COUPLE OF YEARS LATER AND WAS TAKEN TO MODERN TOYOTA. THEY REPLACED THE THERMOSTAT AND INSTALLED NEW SPARK PLUGS. ONE MONTH LATER AT MYRTLE BEACH THE TRUCK OVERHEATED AGAIN AND WAS TOOK TO THE TOYOTA DEALERSHIP IN CONWAY, S.C.. THE MECHANIC SAID IT NEEDED A THERMOSTAT AND A TUNE UP. I INFORMED HIM THAT THIS HAD BEEN DONE A MONTH AGO AND HE SAID THAT THIS WAS VERY UNUSUAL FOR A THERMOSTAT TO BE BAD. WHEN THEY CHECKED THE COMPUTER THEY DECIDED NOT TO CHARGE ME FOR THE THERMOSTAT AND THE TUNE-UP INCLUDING NEW PLUGS. THE MECHANIC SAID HE WAS AFRAID OF SERIOUS PROBLEMS AND GAVE ME A GALLON OF ANTIFREEZE AND TOLD ME GOOD LUCK. BY THIS TIME I WAS FEED UP BY THE SERVICE PEOPLE AT MODERN TOYOTA. THE TRUCK RAN FO
