Suzuki Motor of America, Inc. (Suzuki) is recalling certain model year 2004-2006 Verona vehicles manufactured June 2003 to October 2005. In the affected vehicles, there may be heat generated within the DRL module located in the instrument panel, which could melt the DRL module.

IN CERTAIN PASSENGER VEHICLES, A FAULT IN THE ADAPTIVE FUEL CONTROL LOGIC CAN CAUSE SOME VEHICLES TO USE AIR/FUEL RATIOS DURING DECELERATION THAT ARE LEAN ENOUGH TO CAUSE ENGINE STALLING.
SEAT BELTS:FRONT:BUCKLE ASSEMBLY
CERTAIN PASSENGER VEHICLES MAY HAVE A MISLOCATED SENSOR IN THE DRIVER'S SEAT BELT BUCKLE ASSEMBLY. THIS CONDITION CAN PREVENT THE DRIVER'S SEAT BELT TONGUE FROM BEING INSERTED INTO THE BUCKLE.
The contact's fiancé owns a 2004 Suzuki Verona. The contact stated that on multiple occasions after starting the vehicle, the engine was lagging and then revved inadvertently. The contact also stated that while driving at various speeds and coming to a stop at a red light or stop sign, the vehicle stalled and lost motive power on multiple occasions. The vehicle was able to be restarted. Additionally, the contact stated that the driver's seat belt failed to latch, and the front passengerâs side seat belt locked without movement. The check engine, air bag, seat belt, and oil warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, where it was diagnosed that the timing chain and lifters needed to be replaced. The mechanic was unable to duplicate the additional failures. I HAVE HAD NOTHING BUT PROBLEMS SINCE DAY ONE WITH ACCELERATING. CONSTANTLY STALLING AND BUCKING. I READ HOW THUS HAS BEEN AN ISSUE WITH THIS TYPE OF CAR SINCE DAY 1. THE DEALERSHIP WOULD ONLY DO ONE MINOR REPAIR AND REFUSED TO HELP WITH ANYTHING ELSE, AS IT WAS SOLD AS IS. I HAD A MECHANIC HOOK IT UP AND FOUND 12 TRANSMISSION CODES!!!! I AM A SINGLE MOTHER OR 2/CHILDREN AND FEAR FOR OUR SAFETY EVERY TIME WE GET IN THIS CAR. I SO WISH I NEVER PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE. BUT NOW ITS TOO LATE, I STILL OWE MONEY AND CAN'T AFFORD ANOTHER VEHICLE. JUST WONDERING , I HAVEN'T SEEN ANY, BUT WERE THERE OR ARE THERE ANY RECALLS FOR THIS PROBLEM? JUST FRUSTRATED.

I CALLED SUZUKI AUTO (877) 697-8985 BECAUSE THE CLOSEST DEALERSHIP IS NOW A DAYS DRIVE AWAY (SOME 300 MILES) INSTEAD OF HERE IN TOWN. I TOLD 2 OR 3 DIFFERENT PEOPLE I WAS ABLE TO TALK TO, THAT IT IS NOT POSSIBLE FOR ME TO DRIVE THAT FAR. I AM ON VA AND SOCIAL SECURITY DISABILITIES ALSO FULL TIME CARE GIVER WITH HELP FROM THE STATE FOR MY 87 YEAR OLD MOTHER WHO SUFFERS FROM DEMENTIA. SUZUKI WILL NOT AUTHORIZE ANY OTHER DEALERSHIP OR REPAIR FACILITY TO REPLACE THE MODULE. I EITHER DRIVE TO PHOENIX, AZ OR TRY TO SUE THEM IF THE CAR CATCHES FIRE. BOUGHT THIS HORRIBLE CAR FOR $4,300 OF FINANCIAL AID MONEY WITH "AS IS, NO WARRANTY". OWNER SAID HE'D FIX THE PROBLEM BUT DID NOT EVEN THOUGH HE'S NOT OBLIGED TO, BUT HE WENT AGAINST HIS WORDS FOR FIXING THE CAR. HE SAID HIS MECHANIC WILL BUY THE NEW HOSE FOR THE ENGINE WHICH HE DID, BUT DID NOT PUT IN A FILTER AS SAID. THEN THEY DID NOT FIX THE OXYGEN SENSOR OR PUT ON NEW BRAKE PADS OR ROTORS AS SAID. THE BRAKES AND ROTORS ARE SEVERELY DAMAGE, AND THE OXYGEN SENSOR IS BUSTED. THE COOLANT & ANTI-FREEZE TUBE BURST, THE LEFT BLINKER BLINKS REALLY FAST, THE SMOG LIGHT BUTTON DOESN'T WORK, THE WHEEL ALIGNMENT IS OFF. IT IS JUST A TERRIBLE CAR I HAVE BOUGHT WRONGLY. *TR
