I WAS RIDING THROUGH THE RURAL COUNTRYSIDE NEAR WHERE I LIVE (KEARNEY,MO.) ON SUNDAY AFTERNOON. (7/25/1999). I WAS RIDING ALONG ON MY 1997 SUZUKI TL-1000S WHEN I RODE OVER A RISE IN THE ROAD AND HIT A POTHOLE. AT FIRST I THOUGHT I HAD BLOWN A TIRE, I JUST CONCENTRATED ON GETTING THE BIKE STOPPED. THE SWINGARM HAD SHEARED IN HALF ! THE BIKE HAD FALLEN AWAY UNDERNEATH ME, AND THE SUSPENSION HAD COLLAPSED SO FAR THAT THE EXHAUST HEADER UNDER THE BIKE WAS CRUSHED ! THE REAR TIRE BURNED A HOLE IN THE INNER FENDER, THE SWINGARM GOUGED A GOOD SIZED IMPRESSION IN THE LEFT EXHAUST CAN, AND THE CHAINED CARVED A NOTCH IN THE SIDE OF THE FRAME. I HAVE A WEBSITE WITH ALL THE PICTURES PERTAINING TO THIS CLAIM. THE SWINGARM WELD AT THE PIVOT POINT COMPLETELY SHEARED IN TWO PIECES.. THE SITE IS HTTP://WWW.QNI.COM/~NYZTYZ/POTHOLE/ THANK YOU..
