FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE:STORAGE:TANK ASSEMBLY
ON CERTAIN CALIFORNIA-SPECIFICATION MODEL MOTORCYCLES, REPEATED STRESS FROM VIBRATION CAN CAUSE A CRACK TO FORM IN THE AREA WHERE THE LIQUID/VAPOR SEPARATOR BRACKET IS WELDED INSIDE THE FUEL TANK. THIS CAN ALLOW FUEL LEAKAGE TO OCCUR.
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 SUZUKI M50 BLVD MOTORCYCLE. THE CONTACT RECEIVED RECALL NOTICE # 2085 ON MAY 22, 2007. HE HAS BEEN EXPERIENCING THE FAILURE NOTED IN THE RECALL FOR ONE YEAR AND FOUR MONTHS. THE MANUFACTURER STATED THAT HE WAS SENT TWO NOTICES PRIOR TO THE FAILURE OCCURRING.
