Concentration in one or two component groups is the classic signature of a systemic defect; a flat distribution usually reflects normal aging, warranty complaints, or isolated build-plant variability.

Owners comparing this cohort against neighboring years should pair the counters above with the complaint-by-year trend on the parent model page — a spike in a single year often tracks to a platform refresh, a new transmission supplier, or an updated ECU calibration. 20031003ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING

WHILE DRIVING THE MOTORCYCLE LOST POWER WHICH CAUSED AN ACCIDENT. THE MOTORCYCLE WAS TOTALED. THE CONSUMER STATED THAT THE ENGINE WAS LEAKING EXCESSIVE OIL. DEALER HAS NOT BEEN NOTIFIED YET. PLEASE PROVIDE FURTHER INFORMATION. *NLM

20020131CrashPOWER TRAIN:MANUAL TRANSMISSION

I BOUGHT THE MOTORCYCLE WITH 1,400 MILES ON THE ODOMETOR, SECOND AND SIXTH GEAR WENT OUT WITHIN 600 MILES. I ARGUED WITH SUZUKI FOR MORE THAN 3 WEEKS, THEY NEVER CLAIMED RESPONSEBILITY BUT REPLACED IT ANYWAY! I FOUND OUT LATER THAT THIS WAS NOT THE FIRST TRANSMISSION FAILURE FOR THIS MOTORCYCLE. THE PREVIOUS OWNER HAD THE TRANSMISSION REPLACED AFTER ONLY 800 MILES. THE DAY THAT I PICKED UP THE MOTORCYCLE FROM THE DEALERSHIP AFTER THE SECOND TRANSMITION IT DEVELOPED A BAD OIL LEAK CAUSING ME TO HIGH SIDE AT 60MPH, AND SHATERING MY SHOULDER, MAJOR CONCUSION AND BADLY BRUISED RIBS. I KNOW OF AS MANY AS TWELVE OTHER SIMILAR CASES INVOLVING THIS PARTICULAR MOTORCYCLE!! I SUGEST A TOTAL RECALL, AND BELEIVE IT TO BE IN SUZUKI'S BEST INTEREST. NOTE SUZUKI USA NEVER TOOK RESPONCEABILITY AND WAS VERY RUDE DECLINING TO COMPENSATE ME IN ANY WAY!! *AK

20010510UNKNOWN OR OTHER

CONSUMER HAS OIL LEAKING FROM BOTTOM OF FAIRING. ISN'T SURE WHERE LEAK IS COMING FROM. DEALER SAID THEY WOULD CHECK TO SEE IF IT WAS A GASKET. THEY WOULD NEED IT FOR JUST A DAY, AND ANYTHING MORE SERIOUS THEY COULDN'T SEE. *AK

20001018POWER TRAIN:MANUAL TRANSMISSION

TRANSMISSION DOES NOT STAY IN 2ND GEAR. THIS ALMOST CAUSED AN ACCIDENT!! I HAVE BEEN READING THAT THERE ARE OTHER PROBLEMS THAT ARE VERY SIMILAR. *AK
