Suzuki Motor of America, Inc. (Suzuki) is recalling certain model year 2011-2014 GSX-R750 and 2009-2014 GSX-R1000 motorcycles. If a gear is missed while upshifting, the strain applied to the drive chain after the next shift may cause the rear axle to move, damaging the left-side drive chain adjuste
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 SUZUKI GSX-R750. WHILE RIDING AT 65 MPH, SMOKE APPEARED FROM THE MOTORCYCLE. THE CONTACT NOTICED OIL LEAKING FROM THE ENGINE ONTO THE REAR TIRE. UPON INSPECTING THE MOTORCYCLE, THE CONTACT NOTICED THAT THE CONNECTING ROD PUNCHED THROUGH THE ENGINE. THE MOTORCYCLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER TO BE INSPECTED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE DEALER TOOK PICTURES OF THE MOTORCYCLE AND FORWARDED THEM TO THE MANUFACTURER. THE MOTORCYCLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 4,200.
