The contact owns a 2007 Suzuki GSX-R750. The contact stated while riding approximately 60 MPH, the motorcycle seized with both wheels unable to operate as needed. There were no warning lights illuminated. The contact turned off and restarted the motorcycle. The contact changed the brakes, and brake fluid; however, the failure reoccurred. The motorcycle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 78,085.

I WAS GOING 70 DOWN THE HIGHWAY WHEN MY BIKE SHUT OFF. LOOKED AT THE 30AMP FUSE UNDER THE SEAT AND IT WAS BLOWN. REPLACED IT WITH THE SPARE AND IT IMMEDIATELY BLEW. TRAILERED MY BIKE BACK TO MY HOUSE AND FOUND THE REGULARTOR/RECTIFIER SPARKING. THIS IS A HUGE ISSUE AND SHOULD BE A RECALL. BIKE WAS DRIVEN NORMALLY WITH NO RACING/SPEEDS OVER 80.

I WAS AT A STOPLIGHT WHEN THE VEHICLE NEXT TO ME TOLD ME THAT MY BIKE WAS ON FIRE. I WAS UNAWARE PRIOR TO THE DRIVER OF THE VEHICLE NEXT TO ME TELLING ME. I COULD NOT DIRECTLY SEE THE FLAME WHILE UPRIGHT ON THE BIKE, BUT I WAS ABLE TO LEAN OVER TO MY LEFT SIDE TO SEE A FLAME UNDERNEATH THE GAS TANK. I PULLED OVER IMMEDIATELY BUT UNFORTUNATELY COULD NOT PUT THE FLAME OUT AS IT WAS NOT REACHABLE BY THE MEANS THAT I HAD AT THE TIME. THE FLAME WAS COMING FROM THE LEFT SIDE OF THE BIKE DIRECTLY UNDER THE GAS TANK. IT WAS MORE ON THE INTERIOR THAN ON THE EXTERIOR SO I COULD NOT REACH THE FLAME TO PUT IT OUT SO I CALLED THE FIRE DEPARTMENT TO PUT THE FIRE OUT. BY THE TIME THEY ARRIVED THE BIKE WAS ESSENTIALLY TOTALED BUT THEY WERE ABLE TO PUT THE FIRE OUT.

LUCKILY ALL THE TIMES WHEN IT HAS STOPPED WORKING I WAS STOPPED. BUT ONCE I WAS 21ST A BUSY INTERSECTION AND THANKFULLY A DRIVER OF A CAR LET ME WALK IT TO THE SIDE WALK. IN AFRAID THIS IS GOING TO HAPPEN WHILE I'M GOING DOWN THE INTERSTATE AND IT'S GOING CAUSE AN ACCIDENT OR WORSE...TAKE MY LIFE.

TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 SUZUKI GSX-R750. WHILE DRIVING BETWEEN 80-100 MPH AND ATTEMPTING TO MAKE A TURN, THE CONTACT APPLIED THE BRAKES AND THE MOTORCYCLE WHIPPED HIM OVER THE HANDLE BARS. THE FRAME SEPARATED AND THE BODY OF THE MOTORCYCLE SPLIT IN HALF. HE LANDED APPROXIMATELY 100 FEET FROM THE MOTORCYCLE AND SUSTAINED A FEW BROKEN FINGERS ON HIS LEFT HAND AND MAJOR BRUISES. THE CONTACT WAS TRANSPORTED TO THE HOSPITAL AND RELEASED SHORTLY AFTER. HE TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER AND THEY KEPT IT FOR A WEEK. AT THE END OF THE WEEK, THE DEALER INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THEY WOULD SEND OUT A QUESTIONNAIRE REGARDING THE INCIDENT. THE CONTACT HAS NOT RECEIVED ANYTHING NOR HAS HE HEARD FROM THEM SINCE. THE DEALER STILL HAS POSSESSION OF THE MOTORCYCLE, BUT NO REPAIRS HAVE BEEN PERFORMED. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGES WERE 14,900.

2007 SUZUKI GSXR750 PROBLEM BEGAN WHEN BIKE WAS NEW FROM THE SHOWROOM AND CONTINUES TO THE PRESENT THE PROBLEM IS A RAPID AND ABRUPT THROTTLE CLOSING, AND IS OFTEN ENCOUNTERED WHEN THE MOTORCYCLE IS AT A CRUISING SPEED AND THE THROTTLE IS BEING MAINTAINED (THE BIKE IS JUST MAINTAINING SPEED, NOT ACCELERATING). WHENEVER THE THROTTLE IS MODULATED TO LESSEN THE SPEED, THE BIKE REACTS AS IF THE RIDER HAD JUST CLOSED THE THROTTLE COMPLETELY AND THE BIKE BEGINS TO ENGINE BRAKE, HARD. THE FAILURE, THE ABRUPT CLOSING OF THE THROTTLE DESPITE MINUTE ADJUSTMENTS TO THE CONTROLS, OCCURS OFTEN, BUT IT WILL HAPPEN ALWAYS OR NOT AT ALL AND SEEMINGLY WITHOUT REASONING AS THE BIKE'S ECU SHOWS NO ERRORS OR DEALER CODES AND ALL SYSTEMS RELATED TO THE FUNCTION OF THE THROTTLE HAVE BEEN CHECKED AND ARE IN SPEC. AS FOR THE FREQUENCY, THE BIKE WILL EXPERIENCE THE FAILURE 100% OF THE TIME THE SITUATION IS ENCOUNTERED IF THE BIKE HAS DONE IT AT ALL ON THAT RIDE. IF YOU START THE BIKE AND THE PROBLEM D

I WAS COMING TO A STOP AT A T INTERSECTION WHEN MY MOTORCYCLE FELL. I GOT BACK UP TO TRY AND MOVE IT BUT THE MOTORCYCLE WOULD NOT MOVE. I FELL ON MY LEFT SIDE BUT FOUND OUT THAT THE RIGHT SIDE OF MY ROTOR INNER MOUNTING PLATE WAS BENT. THE APPROX SPEED I WAS GOING WAS 15 MPH. I SENT MY MOTORCYCLE INTO THE SHOP THE NEXT DAY AND CONTACTED SUZUKI. THEY SENT ME A PACKET AND AFTER I FILLED IT OUT SENT IT BACK IN. SINCE THEN I GOT A VOICEMAIL FROM THEIR REP SAYING "I PUSHED ON THE BRAKES TOO HARD". I HAVE BEEN TRYING TO CALL BACK FOR A COUPLE OF WEEKS NOW LEAVING VOICE MESSAGES AND HAVEN'T GOTTEN A CALL BACK FROM YET. *TR
