I OWN A 2003 SUZUKI BANDIT GSF1200S MOTORCYCLE. OVER THE LAST YEAR OF OWNERSHIP, I HAVE NOTICED A PRONOUNCED DETERIORATION OF LIGHT OUTPUT FROM THE MAIN LOW BEAM AND HIGH BEAM HEADLIGHT HOUSING. THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM WITH SEVERAL OWNERS OF THE SAME MODEL MOTORCYCLE I HAVE COME TO KNOW THROUGH COMMON MODEL SPECIFIC INTERNET FORUMS WHILE RESEARCHING THIS ISSUE. THE ISSUE WITH THE HEADLIGHT MODULE INVOLVES A PROJECTOR BEAM HOUSING THAT IS SUSCEPTIBLE TO ACCUMULATING A FINE GRAY DUST, THUS, HINDERING THE LIGHT OUTPUT TO AN EXTREMELY DANGEROUS LOW LEVEL. THE LIGHT OUTPUT IS SO POOR I HAVE NEARLY BEEN INVOLVED IN 3 DIFFERENT ACCIDENTS BECAUSE I SIMPLY COULD NOT SEE DEBRIS IN THE ROAD LESS THAN 30 YARDS AHEAD WHILE DRIVING 35 MPH OR LESS. SINCE THE HEADLIGHT HOUSING IS A SEALED UNIT, IT IS IMPOSSIBLE TO ACCESS THE AREAS THAT NEED TO BE CLEANED ON A REGULAR BASIS. I HAVE DISCUSSED THIS ISSUE AT LENGTH WITH MORE THAN ONE DEALER AND ALTHOUGH ONE WAS AWARE OF THE ISSUE THE OTHERS WERE NOT.
